okay this is going to be a silly question to some but im gonna ask anyway,

I have just bought an Electronic boost controller and im wondering if ill be needing a tune as well?

planning to install it myself, can someone shed some light please

Which would defeat the purpose of a boost controller in the first place :)

So taking a guess, car is probably stock apart from an exhaust and maybe an intercooler... So yes a tune is required otherwise with more boost you'll likely just make the ECU crack the sads with increased airflow.

Nistune or a PFC is cheapest option, around $1500 worst case for ECU & Tune is what you need to budget there. Sadly it isn't just a case of installing a EBC and increasing boost.

If not on the stock ECU (already a tuned one), then of course more boost = tune. They go hand in hand.

Also keep in mind if its already got ecu and tuned, ebc can bring on boost super sharp if not set right and can severely alter tune. Mine had significant changes in timing and fuel going from old boost tee to e-boost
