Borrow Or Buy R33 Gtr Stock Exhaust

Hi there,

I'm in need of either hiring or buying a stock R33 GTR exhaust system preferably with a cat converter.

I need to clear a noise defect, if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.

I might be able to help. Mines not stock but has cat and is pretty tame sound wise.

Thanks Ewan, I'm located in Malvern in the SE Suburbs. I've heard that it needs to be stock to pass though, so i'm not sure if that will work?

Johnie, wouldn't they know you've put steel wool into the exhaust?

I doubt it would need to be stock. The only requirement would be to pass the dB test I would imagine.

You'd best find out first so you don't buy/borrow something that's no good to you!

my exhaust guy (Hillside exhausts) in furntree gully sorted me out when it happened to me, basically he bolts up a stock (or quiet little pea shooter basically) exhaust go pass the noise (he cant do them unfortunately) test drive back to the workshop then he puts your normal exhaust back on for ya. Cost me $50 or 100 I think cant remember but made it pretty easy for me.

mine passed with a straight through 3" 'cat' too. (33GTR)

Yeah but stock is already 88-89db with the limit being 90 so if its any louder than stock it won't pass. So pea shooter with a cat would be fine but a "quiet" performance exhaust probbably won't.

even a pea shooter on my 32R made 88dB on back off.
