jaysevu
Great replys guys.. i understand what youre saying Bob.. id rather fork out abit more upfront and have a car that i am happy with and wont have to spend too much money on to rectify issues. Im very fussy and the smallest things bug me haha. Im also with you on silver bob haha but white is my second colour for the GTR. Your car is beautiful btw. A 32gtr is a car ive always wanted but ive stayed away from due to the bad press they get about huge maintenence bills and all being thrashed, i just sold my s15 and am currently deciding between a 32 or an EVO9. My heart wants a 32 but my head keeps saying go with the newer evo9. The car will be a daily which leads me to the evo but im still undecided. Mike T , did you request that the car go through a seperate roadworthy inspection to the dealer as im worried dealers will pass anything to make their sale easier and cheaper? Id most likely get a third party inspection done anyway through state roads or a workshop. They have to be legit as it will be too much to risk, for just one car to let slip through. The V-Spec II they got is stock and decent Km's, nothing too much to worry about. If you have a close look at the ads for that car and you have a good eye for reading Japanese Auction sheets, you will see that that car had ( what looks to me) a grade 3C grading at Auction in Japan. If you are keen on the car, inspect it yourself first and haggle hard, then get State roads to go over it thoroughly, and then you can base your final decision on some facts instead of emotion. My feeling is that with that auction grade, it has been 'prepped for sale', so expect some cosmetic' touches' or repainting already done and/or more. I can already see that the intake plenum has been repainted, presumably to get rid of the cracked and peeling off original paint, which these do suffer from if they have had a hard time. To compare, just look at any ADM GTR with these sort of Km's to see the condition, original paint and finish it should have. Bob mentioned japanese auction gradings- I might just add that, from personal experience, there is a big difference between a Grade 3 and 3.5, and 3.5 and 4.0 auction graded vehicles in Japan, and they do vary between auction house to auction house as well! I generally like to aim for a minimum Grade 4B with those sort of kms, but expect to pay low to mid 30's landed and complied for a very good Vspec 1 or 2 example these days with that mileage out of the motherland. Anything under 50,000kms, grade 4.5 or 5 (if you can find one), the skies the limit. My 2 cents. Aussie_Delivered_R32_GTR
Ok....... Here is a screen print of all recent White V-Spec 1 and 2 auction sale prices. If you have a close look in the pic where the books and paperwork are shown, I think the auction grading was actually a 3.5. Who knows, this car may be on the list! LOL. Regardless, the pricing is around the money but remember, it does not include rego and associated costs. Bob. RS4StagMan
Yeah Bob, I think you are right, looking at the auction sheet once again it is a 3.5, so better than I first thought. mjtown
Jason - I bought mine via private sale. The vendor organised for the 100 point check and roadworthiness test and associated rectification works to BE done. I checked out the workshop online and they came up with a good reputation, so I was satisfied with that arrangement. Roadworthiness testing accreditation is taken very seriously, so it's not worth garages getting up to any funny business. I paid to get the belts changed at the same time because they were still the originals (at 65,000km) and I didn't want a twenty year old rubber belt letting go on the drive back to Adelaide. As an aside, the plenum paint on mine is flaking but it's not a car that's been thrashed or had a hard life. It just gets old. Mine gets driven daily too by the away. Love it. No regrets. Aussie_Delivered_R32_GTR
Hi Guys, Well....... After a hell of a lot of mucking around, the engine bay is almost back to 100% original. The battery is the wrong one for the car as the positive terminal post should be on the opposite side. The boys at Unigroup did a great job but were niggled with a few leeks that were finally sorted but the end of the night. Here are the before during and completed pics of my engine bay....... Cheers, Bob. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/416450-r32-gt-r-v-spec-v-spec-ii-register-inc-n1-v-spec-v-spec-ii-models/page/15/#findComment-7301005 Share on other sites

Aussie_Delivered_R32_GTR
Yeah........ Eventually I got everything I needed but I doubt I would go through it again. Parts are either too expensive or too hard to get or both! Just so time consuming. It would be fun if I'd be retired but I'm not and I have to run my business too. Anyway, I'm on the home stretch now. I'll get the last part of the bodywork done in September or October so she will be perfect for summer. Bob. R32N1
I mentioned under these photos on FB that Iron Chef posted, that i would expect this to go to auction and get about 5 mill yen. However, the bid didnt get that high and was passed in at about $43,100 landed and complied. Chef was saying that negotiations to buy post auctions start at about $70k AUD landed and complied into Aussie. Rarity is not cheap!
