Only time I've been pulled over for anything other then a RBT(which never ahd an issue at) in the past 10-15 years was when I was driving a un-rego car with no plates.

cop pulled me over, checked my unrego permit, talked cars for a bit and sent me on my way.

hey man i was having a think about your situation today and i thought of this (might be a long shot)

but if your dead set on your speed being less .. you should organise the police officer to stand at the same difference.. and drive at 10-15 random speeds and see if his assumptions are accurate? with your exhaust he could be way off ..

dont know thought it just popped up in my head lol

simple answer... police will refuse and the courts will back them

if this was done and proved to be inaccurate it would set a legal precedent that would see thousands of fines being overturned.

when they follow you and track you for x time and x distance using their speedo as a reference and blah blah, this will stand of course...

but in cases like one forum member here who drove past an off duty cop that was in a stationary vehicle, who just "decided" he was travelling at a particular speed that happend to result in a loss of lisence... at 3am... that is simply not possible

police aren't superhumans, they are just ordinary people in a blue uniform. There is NO WAY they can actually work out speed without the use of cue's and some form of indicator. it's not physically possible.

I'd say with enough money spent you could get it done... but they will fight tooth and nail to stop you

my last car was, slammed and extremely modded... got pulled over probably 7-8 times,

copped 1 defect (that i deserved, as I admittedly took off too fast in a 300kw car)

every other time I was poilte and courteous and was let off.

no way that's a coincidence.

Agreed 100%.

You might not be let off, but they'll (in most circumstances) be 'easier' on you. An example is when I got defected he only wrote down what I was initially sighted for (height, tyre load and offset). Saw the carbon fuse box, and catch can and just said to be careful with them. Also didnt fine me said that he'd rather I by the car right with the money.

Curtesy gets you a long way.

Just last week got pulled over in QLD, got lasered doing 74 in a 60 in my i30 hire car...

Was polite and had a laugh with the two officers... Hell when he pulled out the bretho at 10:15am and said "Procedure... had anything to drink today?" I said "Bottle of scotch and a slab of XXXX" with a deadpan stare...

He ended up dropping the speeding fine down to 71 so it was in the lowest bracket for me, half the $$$ and no demerits.

If you pass the 'arsehole/attitude test' when they first come up to you, by just not being a general douchebag, things always go a lot smoother...

exactly.

copper (country cop) on the way back from buller dropped my speed from 138 to 118 in a 100 zone (was overtaking) and said it was specifically due to my attitude and that i didn't deny the offense.

he said that most people yell at him and say the lazer must be wrong.

That laser is pretty accurate, I got done speeding in the Stagea, and out of curiosity(not being a smart ass) I asked if I could see how it works, good cop, he name was constable Smallbones lol from the narre warren office. She showed me the radar and let me aim at a few cars going past.. There little red dots on the screen that actually follow the speeding cars and tell you a real time of how fast they are going as they get closer. Because I was so interested she dropped my fine to 5kph over, I was doing 20+ and she knew it lol

yeah i was pretty surprised....

I got done travelling at 140 towards him travelling at 100 in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night... pitch black

old guy from nunawading station on a motorbike also showed me how the laser works, spent 10mins explaining it, and then showing me the inspection date, blah blah blah.

let me off afterwards.

Yeh I think it's the fact that they obviously take pride in what they do. You show an interest, be polite. You going to get a lot less than a torn apart ass hole

jail.

This. Iron Mike is in jail. Let it be a lesson to you law abiders - (world's wildest police videos narrator voice) cops...always...win...

Haha na im still here, just trying to figure out what to do. Im still out of the country but have already called a lawyer and am waiting on a court date....
