Changing Tail Lights On 34 Gtr

Hi everyone. Just wondering. has anyone attempted changing the tail lights on a 34 gtr.

I have just got some LED ones and want to put them on myself but not sure if its hard work or not. dont want to start and then not be able to finish it. ha

It's pretty easy Steve,

Just a few bolts behind it, and you'll be able to pull of the whole tail light assembly.

Im assuming in the 34R its the same as a GTT

i am possibly the least DIY skyline owner, but i managed to change mine... so if i can, i'm sure you'll be fine

are you changing the entire light assembly minus the outside covering/surround (the painted body colour bit)?

yeah the outside bit will still be blue. but the rest will be changed.

yeah, it's just bolts - but you'll probably have to get some boot carpet out of the way and i'm pretty sure you have to take off the plastic cover around the boot latch. That lets you get to some screw things that keep the carpet in place. Once the carpet is out of the way, should be straight forward from there.

The only fiddly bit i found was when i put it back in (new lights) to tuck all the new wiring out of the way, so i could screw/bolt it all back in. Took a little fiddling to make sure the wiring was tuck away in some free space.

there are 3-4 screws on each tail light assembly

Nope

just a few screws and the whole tail light assembly will come out

The boot wall carpet might need to be loosen too

oh thats a relief....looking at it i thought the whole damn rear bumper was gonna have to come off. i feel better now. haha
