only due to kesh.

also, I'LL laugh when you have to do apex seals before my first service.

This is quite possible... LOL!

I don't know if the op is still reading this but the first skyline i had was a R33 gts25 (type-s) (2 door) and it was great. could hold it's own against R32 gts-t's handled like it was on rails and would take a thrashing all day long with no drama's. when i got my 25t i was fairly disappointed as it didn't really go much harder than the non-turbo after putting a manual boost controller on and bumping up the boost to 10psi it still wasn't feeling much better. I ended up getting it dyno'd thinking something was drastically wrong with it and it was making 190kw.

I don't know what was going on with the n/a that i had, as far as i knew (and my friend who owned it for 5 years before me) it was stock apart from a pod filter and a cat-back. i just wish i had put it up on a dyno while i still had it. In the 5 years my friend owned it and the 2 years i did it never gave any drama whatsoever, when i last checked to see if it was still alive and kicking (on that website in nz that you type the rego into) it was upto 245000km! (i sold it at around 150)

my 25t has given me all sorts of minor dramas in the three years i have had it and now with 250kw it is definitely faster than the old n/a but doesn't feel as good to drive, and i'm constantly worried about it breaking down on me.

The only other n/a skyline experience i had was another friend who brought a R33 4 dr gts (2 litre single cam) and that was absolutely rubbish, like a totally different car.

one thing that always confused me was how my n/a gave me the same fuel economy as my turbo when the power of the turbo should be far exceeding 100kw more!

anyway thats my experience

Go the N/A!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theres a big difference between a 2.0 na and the 2.5 n/a, I pity the poor bastard who has a 2.0 n/a, would be terrible.

Don't think anyones disputing the fact that n/a's are good and are fun, but they are (obviously) alot slower then a turbo. Reliability is a hit and miss with cars, some people have issues with a car turbo or not, I had not one issue with my 32 or 34, had them both for over a year and was running decent mods, I think some people think maintinance is bad reliablility when its not.

Im not sure how you think your turbo 2.5 wasnt much quicker then your n/a, it would have a bucket load more torque from about 2,500rpm then the n/a. N/a 2.5 stock would be lucky to have 100rwkw, stock 25t would be around 130-140rwkw? Plus the extra torque.

my experience with the r33 gts-t is that they feel slower than they are. this is because they are somewhat torquey for a 2.5L engine. so they make boost nice and low and pull well from low in the rev range. but they don't have that hard pull from low in the rev range like a larger NA engine. but at the same time, they don't get the rush from the turbo coming on song at a bit higher rev range like the rb20 or sr20 or even the ca18 does. those engines don't pull as hard down low, but give a nice rush of power when you get up in the rev range a bit, so they feel faster than they are.

so long story short, the rb25det just gets shit done. unless you actually pay attention to how fast the speedo is moving, you don't realise just how fast they are accelerating and can be somewhat disappointed by the performance.

i drive a er34 n/a coupe in manual... if you are a p plater (like myself) then it's an awesome car to drive since your comparing yourself to other p platers who all have power restricted cars. otherwise best thing i drove was a 270rwkw r34, and all i can say is my car is powerless compared to that lol. sadface

we (pplaters) would love to have turbos. we learn to drive in n/as and obviously covet more power. but i myself love to drive fast and hard and i can happily out handle most cars on a windy road because i actually know how to drive. (told by many, including turbo owners that i can drive well and have impressed even them.) our measly n/as are generally also limited to 180kms and that sucks.

id just like to say to the guys who mentioned about breaking 140km+ in his turbo.. that obviously i cant break traction at 140.... but i am really good at breaking traction and high speed drifting rally style on dirts roads at 160kms and know what the hell im doing. i dont care if you have a turbo, id like to see you without stained pants after i take you for a rally sesh. ya smirf!!!

I look forward to seeing your face on TV after you're wrapped around a pole.
