So i swapped my rb20det cefiro for a piece of shit manual s2 rb25det r33. Was not happy with it at all.. it looked like it was last nights left overs. So i went out and bought me a factory rb25de manual r32.

The rb25de in the r32 had shot a conrod out the block on cyl 1 so i pulled it out.

I then pulled the series 2 rb25det out of the r33 and put it in the r32 all 100%.

Everything mechanical is all 100% minto and finished.

I thought i would be able to do the wiring myself, but god knows what ive done wrong.

So here goes..

I use the factory rb25de loom that was in the skyline (fully untouched) (pretty sure its the same as 20de/det loom)

i then cut off the ignitor chip plug and wired up each coil pack numbering from 1-6 to the r33 coil pack harness plug.(using a ecu pinout to match)

on the factory rb25de loom there was a secondary plug with 3 terminals. I cut the plug and i assumed that the big white wire would match up to the injectors +. Another wire was black/red im pretty sure and it was a ground, and only god knows what the other wire was, i just left it hanging like a boss. im pretty sure its red with a black stripe.

Then i had a go at wiring up the injectors. i use the r33 injector harness. Chopped up the r32 injector loom, and matched up each injectors numbering from 1-6, and the remaining wire (White/Black) i assumed would go to the remaining + wire on the r33 injector harness. I also switched over injectors 4 and 6 on the ecu.

Everything else was pretty much just plug and play apart from the tps VVT and afm, but i hooked them up and i know that they should be 100%.

THEN i hooked up the ecu/battery turned to ignition.. Fuel pump wouldent even prime. NOTE: (I also switched the fuel pumps over. 25de>>25det pump. They looked pretty much the same and use the exact same mountings and wires in the boot so that shouldnt be and issue.)

The fuel pump definately works as i retarded the fuel pump relay just so it turns on with the key.

I then relised that the injectors wernt firing.. (i removed the CAS and span with the ignition on) NOTHING!

This really pissed me off and basicly gave up at this point. God knows if the coils are even working.

Anyone have any ideas? ive never wired up a series 2 to a r32, but i have wired up a series 1 and it ran mint.

So what im asking does anyone know why my fuel pump aint working? + injectors and maybe the coils? lol...

Hey mate, Have a look here through my issues;

http://www.skylinesa...58#entry6509958

This may help?

Thanks for the help mate but i manage to finally get it sused out!

I removed the s2 coil harness and wired up the standard r32 coil harness (bypassed ignitor chip plugs) using s2 grey plugs.

Hooked it up and started first pop.

What i realised is that the r33 coil harness is missing a grounding terminal that the harness on the r32 coil loom has.

So now im stoked as!

    • It only looks tidy, as most of the stuff that was on the whole back wall, is now in the trailer to go to the tip, or has been shoved in my 2.2x2.4m "Spare parts room", and now I can't get to anything in there Ha ha ha I could definitely do with a bit more space, but I'd just end up with your problems I'm going to enclose the car port beside the garage, and move a lot of stuff into it I think. OR... It will be setup as a fabrication area, and the main garage will have parts storage in it. I'm not sure yet... Need some pictures of that big shed you've got with the bikes and Skyline in
    • No. I think it's gone. 😭 I think you can get body coloured ones on eBay so I think I'll get one of those... Or just hang a red ribbon from the hole and whack a TOW sticker next to it.
    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
