hey all. I already have a thread for this in the WTB section but thought I'd put it in the NSW section too since that might make it easier if anyone here has pieces. Mods if this belongs ONLY in the WTB section then feel free to delete the thread.

Basically, got my car, have a few bits and pieces - mainly cosmetics that I want to fix up. Here's the list. Located in Sydney, NSW around Hornsby area so am willing to drive a bit to pick up (would have to be weekends) but otherwise am also willing to pay postage - depends how much it costs.

Have had some offers but still waiting on pics etc.

  • Armrest centre console lid - my hinge is half snapped

  • Need a new rear driver-side speaker mesh cover in the back, the ones that are on the parcel shelf at the back - Haven't checked if this is removable by itself, so if not, may need an entirely new parcel shelf
  • Driver side rain shield - the clear red colour piece of plastic that sits above the door so you can open some window when it's raining...?
  • If anybody has an aftermarket centre dash console - from the 3 gauges downwards to the stereo area then welcome to show me some pics and make me an offer, I don't quite like the material of the stock console.

  • If anybody has nismo indicators at all, let me know too.
  • if you have any headlights sets/bulbs that you want to sell off, also make me an offer.
  • Rear seat covers - make me an offer OR if you have a set of rear seats for sale also let me know.
  • Castor bushes - nolathane etc etc + rack ends. please contact me ASAP

Please PM me or post here if you have something! I always check.

Cheers guys.

The speaker mesh are pretty hard to find! I gave up lol

The weather shield and dash bits can be had in the CF group buys on SAU pretty cheap and easy.

For the castor bushes and rack ends etc look up GKTECH.COM and similar and you will get a good deal, they are whole arms though.

haha Mat, found some guys with a parcel shelf - so may just swap out the entire thing. don't seem to be many group buys going on now...?

i know that my castor bushes and rack ends need replacing but i'm after a quote on how much it'd cost to replace all/most of the suspension system.

    • I don't really understand because clearly it's possible. The factory ECU is running on like a 4 MHz 16-bit processor. Modern GDI ECUs have like 200 MHz superscalar cores with floating point units too. The Haltech Nexus has two 240 MHz CPU cores. The Elite 2500 is a single 80 MHz core. Surely 20x the compute means adding some PID boost control logic isn't that complicated. I'm not saying clock speed is everything, but the requirements to add boost control to a port injection 6 cylinder ECU are really not that difficult. More I/O, more interrupt handlers, more working memory, etc isn't that crazy to figure out. SpaceX if anything shows just how far you can get arguably doing things the "wrong" way, ie x86 COTS running C++ on Linux. That is about as far away from the "correct" architecture as it gets for a real time system, but it works anyways.
    • Holy hell! That is absolutely stunning! Great work!!!
    • It does when you start adding everything else in. But it's not just compute. It's the logic. Getting your timing right (I'm not meaning ignition timing for the engine). Making sure of your memory mappings, seeing your interrupts. Microcontroller devices only have so much capacity. For the most part, you want all those timers and interrupts in use on your engine control, which means you're left with less than ideal methods for timing and management of other control functions.   Let's put it this way, my job is all about building custom hardware, that goes into cars, and integrates with them. We're also waiting on a media confirmation from SpaceX too fora world first we've just completed with them in NZ too. It's not just the little toys I play with. But you know, you can think and believe what you want.
    • I don't think it's a good buy, the trend looks bad     lol.
