Is there such thing as an R31 gt-R??

A naturally aspirated 3lt, NOT a turbo.

No there was no R31 GTR but there was a GTS-R. There werent any GTRs during the DR30 - HR31 era

Does anyone have the specs on it? How does it differ from the RB30 n/a that is found in the 86'-88' VL commodores??

R31 RB30E = 118Kw 247 Nm ( i think nissan used a better exhaust system that gave the extra 4kws )

R31 GTS1 = 130Kw

R31 GTS2 = 140KW

VL RB30E = 114kw 247 Nm

VL turbo RB30ET = 150KW - 296NM

Still more than the VT ecotec power output :P but put out around the same amount of torque

youd probably have around 85rwkw

VL RB30E had a different shape blade on the clutch fan.

It's the same motor.

If you want some more info, i've scanned an article comparing the 2 cars/motors

You can find it in the "articles" section....

click here .. the article is titled "VL vs. R31"

There are also some other articles on there that may be of some use to you. :)
