I have a 1990 model Nismo edition R32 GTR that I am considering selling due to taking on another project. It's registered in NSW until late 2013 and has 87K original miles which are documented. I have all import papers and engineering certificate etc.

Car was painted white in japan by dealership (so I'm told) and has been white ever since I first tried to acquire it around 2001. Anyway it was originally a gunmetal grey car according to the ID tag and has vin # starting BNR32-100 and RA code also. Being a nismo it does not have ABS, intercooler mesh, rear wiper or wiper control etc. Weird part of this car is that it has a factory electric rear aerial but no radio control on the dash and aftermarket radio? It also has A/C which is supposed to be deleted on nismo's but I haven't seen a nismo without it. It has nismo side skirts, boot spoiler but has some mods such as forged hollow spoke wheels, arc bov, hks oil cooler, apexi fc, data logit, pod filters, greddy boost controller, timer, torque split etc.

Otherwise this car is pretty genuine in that it still has the emergency flare inside, factory jack and tool kit and the sills haven't been bashed up like most grey imports. Only real faults are a cigarette burn to drivers seat (not by me) and vinyl lifting from rear side window trims (just needs to be re-glued). It also has a factory 2 way diff and nismo shocks which don't make for the smoothest ride on bumpy streets but that's not what the car was built for. There are other nismo parts around the car like dash, shift knob from what I recall and probably others (upgraded exhaust?). The original rubber hood lip spoiler is there but not fitted as previous owner filled the holes for some reason.

The engine has just been rebuilt (not an N1 block) with forged pistons, N1 pumps, baffled sump etc. because I wanted to boost it and do some track work but at present it's still being run in on a standard computer until I bed her in and get her on a dyno.

Price is $25k as is or I can return to original spec (excluding painting) and sell a little cheaper.

Will send pic's to geniune inquiries only.

I'm not interested in what people think these are worth and debating value due to mods or colour change etc. (like other posts) so please don't bust my balls in this regard. This is a regrettable sale but not a forced sale so I'm not concerned if it doesn't sell "so no silly offers".

I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
    • How much does the shifter move when the car is in gear with the engine off? If it is more than about 1cm you need to replace your shifter bush. Your shifts will just get crunchier, not faster, with a short shifter unless you also rebuild the whole box
