That's the one.

I'm extremely disappointed, but at the same understand why they have had to do it. If the vast majority of the field enter with cars that are not compliant to the rules, then the class either folds or the rules change to allow those cars to run.

It's stuffed me around to the tune of $3k in wheels (as I wanted to run 10.5 + 15 but wouldn't fit under the guards so bought wheels that could and in doing so decreased the chance of getting a 295 on there), if I was an Evo driver I'd probably have more of a say.

Basically to stay competitive I need to modify the guards now.

That just sucks. I would be extremely upset as I imagine you are but good to see you just getting on with it. If the wheels are new, just sell them and get the right size to maximise the tyre width, which I'm sure your contemplating.

Are there any other big name teams coming from Japan/US/UK? Seems a bit light on so far... still 'early' days I guess. Hopefully a few more come out.

I've been hanging to see all these cars for years, I reckon they are saving the best till last and teams are still probably still putting them together at the last minute.

Yeh my RPF1's have been used for 1 event. But you still loose money straight away by off loading them.

silly question here, but...

"For rearward facing exhaust the outlet(s) shall be between 75mm and 450mm above the ground and within 100mm longitudinally of the rear of the bodywork. If the exhaust is directed sideways the outlet(s) must be located rearward of the midpoint of the wheelbase and shall not project beyond the maximum width of the vehicles bodywork or terminate more than 50mm inwards of the coachwork. A side exit exhaust must exit in a direction away from the centreline of the vehicle."

... would this include wastegate dump/screamers?

FWIW, I disagree. I think they mean exactly what it says. Why should some super hot exhaust be allowed to vent right next to the firewall in the engine bay, and the rest has to head back under the body.

Screamer pipes might be hectic but they are not a safe exhaust system.

Yolanda manny competing in club sprint class, anyone know if the evo 8rs she's driving is quick? Should I ask Richo? Rumours on the street say that Yolanda's your mrs.

She is shooting for low 1.42s when I talked to her at the promo vid shooting, but needed to redesign her front splitter

1.42 club sprint should be in the top 10ish

She ran Open class (z221's) at Vic and NSW. Did quiet well. Have a look at the times on natsoft.

A 1.42 is aiming pretty high based on previous results, but you gota have a point to aim at.

I think (?) she is with Lt Dan.

Front splitter, well that comes down to if the rules are enforced and how they are interpreted...

I read them as as splitter cannot extent 5cm beyond the forward most point on the front bar and must follow the contur of the front bar. And cannot extend further (width) than the guards.

iirc the current one on that car is around 10-15cm.

It's down to the interpretation of the rule. There is wording along the lines of "must follow the contour or original shape of the OE part". So does that mean using Evo 9 body panels (which a few of the Evo guys do) is not allowed? lol

1.42 will be in the top 10 for sure.

The cars will be on-par with the times last year, it's going to be 1.38-9's at the top and 1.44-45 rounding out the top 10.

If I got a 42 I'd be ecstatic.
