Try your local steering and suspension place.

I'm certain they will know, and would have sent steering racks out to get R+R'd.

It will take your ride off the road for a week........obviously.

Ive been quoted $170 here in the ACT.

Assuming that is remove/refit and then rebuild?

You try removing the rack outta a GTR and then fit it back in, you'll understand why it's costly.

I took my rack in whilst it was removed, so it was only $150-$200 or something fully rebuilt.

I got Revzone to send my rack out for rebuild. They seemed to get a better price than what I could find. However this was already pulled off the car.

Try contacting Revzone or your trusted import mechanic on their recommendations.

Nope that was for exchange or rebuild if they don't have one on the shelf... perhaps he gave me the wrong price ill have to speak with them again, I was expecting something in the $3-400 range.

Its not to difficult to do yourself if you have a bit of mechanical knowledge. I've done the rack in my GTR when it started leaking and also done a few 32's and s14's as well. The only bit you'll have to get a shop to do is remove the drivers side seal, I've always taken the stripped rack in with me when I went to buy the seal kit and they have done it for me. Use a bit very thin plastic when you slide the new drivers side seal onto the shaft to protect it from the teeth and the rest is pretty self explanatory. Oh and its much easier to get the nut off if you use a rattle gun.

On a side note I got a 33GTR seal kit from the place I normally go to and the seals were all wrong, went somewhere else as they said they couldn't help anymore as they just ordered in kits and the second place presented me with exactly the same incorrect kit. Ended up having to used half the 33GTR kit and half of a 32GTST kit.....

Thanks mate!! I wonder what nissan would want for genuine seals, would make it easier to get the correct stuff cause its all layed out in FAST.
