Hey all,

Should I start with "this is my first post, please go easy on me"?? nah, I don't care - go as hard as you like! (that's what she said)

So anyway, looking at swapping out my current faded and abused V35 skyline coupe headlights with the Spec-D branded headlights from ebay. I wanted to see if anyone here has done the same and what they think of the results?? I'm assuming there would be some light aiming issues considering these are sourced from America and they drive on the other side of the road... but other than that, are they good quality etc? Or are they going to fade and crack under our lovely sun in a month... horror stories?? Let me know :-) cheers!

Thanks for the pics, looks good... I had mine professionally done and then it came back after a couple of months :( I got a restore kit and did it myself at that point, same deal... good for a while then disappointment... I'm certain I've seen people with that type of headlight... The only thing I'm concerned about is the aiming of the lights and blinding people...

DO NOT run lights you source from the USA - as pointed out they are LHD biased - you will get pinged by the first cop coming in the opposite direction at night. Source some from Japan - contact Jesse Streeter - a heap of us did a group buy through him last year, and they are AWESOME! From memory one-off sets were about $700-$800 delivered, but the exchange rate is a LOT better now than it was, so much less I would think.

Same as what Andrew says, i nearly went down the path of buying LHD lights but it's just not worth the fine. The restore kits aren't working probably because there is shit building up inside the actual lights which is probably what's happening to mine because mine came back hazy after 6 or so months but i've got other things to worry about before i fix that lol.. I would try and source some factory RHD 06-07 Projectors but from what i've found they are certainly not easy to find.. nor cheap.

Goodluck.

The other option is to cut your oem headlights right back (like in the restoration processes mentioned above), then get them clear coated from a panel shop.

Got mine of Yahoo Auctions using http://www.importmonster.com.au/ for around $800 about 2 months back and couldn't be happier with them. And I would strongly advise against LHD ones as you will just get fined and if ever in an accident your insurance company might try use them against you if it a night time accident.

do you mean "got mine" as in aftermarket headlights or the factory 06-07 projectors? Because i just called Nissan to get part numbers so i can contact Jesse Streeter for pricing and the lad at Nissan reckons a set of 06-07 projectors are $2300 brand new from Nissan.... LOL

i'd rather keep my dirty old reflectors than buy aftermarket ones that i've heard some pretty nasty horror stories about.. LED's failing within months and crap output

Well watch this space, depending on how my first set goes, i may be able to offer a rebuild service that will restore and retrofit your current headlights with high output modern bi-xenon projectors, quad setups, halos, leds, painted housings and shrouds.....fully customised to your choice.

I've currently got 3 pairs of headlights, two sets of 03's and a set of 07-06's (muhaha) so it would be on an exchange basis (depending on the condition of your current headlights).

Nah mine are the aftermarket ones, haven't had any trouble with them (touch wood) and i've had em for 3-4 months now. And ill love to post a pic for you Mat if only i could work out how too lol
