A simple, but important part of the car. Im not sure if this is related to my audio install of a week ago (im going to check a few things on that tommorow to see if its related) but in the past few days i have noticed my indicators have stopped working. Or more specifically, they work sporadically. Like driving to work, nothing, then later its ok, then next day nothing. and by nothing, i mean you pull the lever up or down and no noise, no light on dash, just dead. And nope, its not the fuse.

Is this a normal failure, and if so what part needs to be changed, and do you have a part number/price? of what should i be looking for? ideas?

thanks all

Only 2 screws and I think 2 plugs hold the stalk to the column once the surround is off

There is a cover on the stalk that pops off and the contacts can be cleaned but its a little tricky getting it off and the contacts can fall out if your not careful.

I've had to clean mine when I couldn't get them to turn off

I'd check the hazard switch before ripping the stalk off.

this is something for others to keep in mind if they have the same issue (since the OP may have solved his issue). the indicator stalk isn't the only thing that can cause the indicators to stop working. if you unplug the hazard switch the indicators won't work at all.
