Hi there, drive a R33 gts-t, 95 model.

Clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced.

Got quoted by a mechanic $1100 including labour and a heavy duty clutch.

Asked him how much for a standard clutch and he said only about $100 less.

Am I getting done over here? Any feedback greatly appreciated.

I live in Perth, WA.

Cheers, Phil

no thats about right....its actually on the cheaper side depending what clutch...my guess its an excedy HD or something..But yeah..the price is about what you would expect to pay for any clutch swap...

NPC do a nice organic clutch for about 650$ fitment is usually 400ish plus oil and clutch fluid replacement..

Does $786 + $45 delivery to Sydney for an R34 NPC organic HD clutch sound about right?

Yes, Although I would go a stronger clutch for yours Ron as the power potential is there

Doug recommended me that and said it would hold up to 330rwkw, hes known for underquoting power figures his clutches can hold so I trust him, I have to have organic for softness/street use, hows ur car btw, monster yes?

The 400kw carbotic is a little bitey at times...its soft as to the foot... But can be a little temperamental on take off and when reversing into tight spots and such...using it everyday Could get annoying in traffic could get annoying...I reckon the organic would cover you. if it was a racecar I'd say carbotic but I doubt your setup will get over 330kw and your not racing it hard yet so that organic should see you fine for a long time..

Hoping so, ARTZ, did u get your carbotic for $650, R33 push type clutches are sometimes like half price of 34 ones :( ..the only difference being the pressure plate, man youtube has some pretty interesting animations of how clutches n transmissions work..

Hey anyone knows the size (diameter?) of R34GTT clutch and pressure plates? And thickness. I have heard stories of people being sold the wrong clutch kit which causes issues when fitted, how do I know from the kit its the right one? Looking round for one, just want to be sure I get the right part.

Ron, you having your own little party in here? LOL

Pretty sure our clutch is the R33GTR clutch so they are common! If you dont plan on any more power and its a daily then go the organic.... If you plan to track it etc then go bigger and better!

I run the Jim Berry and its a nice clutch and holds up to some decent abuse.... I will be out at Powercruise giving it a hard time :P

The car is awesome! How is yours going?
