Hi Guys

This is aimed at the 34 GTR guys that have removed/locked the HICAS system. I have searched for about an hour now on here and on the mystical google but i cant find anything in direct reference to what is involved in locking/removing the HICAS from a BNR34. its all the 33's and 32's. Is anyone able to tell me exactly what parts and the procedure involved in doing this for the 34?

A m8 has a 34 GTT and his HICAS was locked with a lock bar and taking some plugs out, but i have a power steering reservoir in my boot so im assuming that its not going to be as simple as that.

Hey Adam, why are you putting in a lock bar? Is the rack screwed? Track day coming up? HICAS enhances corner turn in & hence improves performance. I LOVE my Super HICAS in my wagon, it is very noticable cornering at speed, compared to more relaxed driving!

I hate the HICAS, every corner i take at speed on the road (normal driving in 90-100km zones with corners) it pushes the car out towards the worng side of the road as its designed for track use and not single lane roads. I also hate the feeling of the car when it kicks in, feels like the rear end is floating. Everyone i know says to lock it ASAP even in the 34 GTT with HICAS and i know y they say it now.

I know what you mean. When I first got my R32 it was terrible, push it hard through the apex & exit of a low speed corner & it would go in completely the opposite direction I though it would! I played around with the wheel alignment after work for afew nights & got it pretty good. It was much more predictable, without losing too much of the entry feel. I find the responsiveness of my Stagea to cornering at speed excellent! I don't feel the floatiness in the wagon, maybe because of the extra weight over Skylines. It would be really good if the HICAS management was adjustable, to allow a more progressive application......
