Which Ecu ?

Hi,

I am buying an R34 GTT 4door sedan in the coming months when i find the right one.

I am of course going to modify it, turbo, cooler, fuel system, gearbox, etc

I want to be able to run PULP98 and E85 ( mainly e85 )

My question is this

Which ecu will let me run 2 different tunes that is switchable via a hand controller ? If i get stuck somewhere i cant get e85 i can switch over to a 98 tune and keep going ( will be my daily drive)

Is there even an aftermarket ecu that will allow me to do this ??

Any info regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

Why close thread...adaptronic select ecu can run dual maps...put a switch In The dash and fuel swap is as easy as the flick of a switch...add to that built in map and boost control and your all done under 1500$..or it can also run an E-sensor too if you wish and can adjust itself between your 2 tunes automatically ,something im not sure the others ecus can offer..

You can of course add a E-sensor and map sensor to all the other 2000$ ecus + extra tuning and you're looking at nearly double the price by the time its done...

Anyway enough of the free plugs..Its that or a Link, just my opinion.

PFc. for the price you can buy them you can either have two Pfcs or the software to tune one to dump a tune into it. Both cheaper than the local ECU option by the time its installed , tuned and have sensors etc. Well at least thats what I have done

Ah yes... i did forget Adaptronic. I haven't used that ECU, so i'm not familar with its capabilities.

Both Haltech and link/vipec can store multiple maps and select a map automatically depending on the ethonol sensor output.

exactly right you need multiple maps meaning multiple tunes...Adaptronic only needs 2 tunes in theory it takes the ethanol content and VE chart works out the rest...Not sure how well it works in practice yet though...I know a few tuners complain about software but its always being updated and probably just takes a little getting used to...

PFC is always going to be one of the best and is fine if you dont mind well used equipment as opposed to brand new...but if you want a flex option it doesnt give you much choices other than hauling your laptop everywhere you go..

ok lets add up roughly if you are starting from scratch.

pfc s/h 600-800$ without a hand controller unless you have a good friend selling you one dirt cheap..

hand controller 150$

afm upgrade 200$

datalogit thing for tuning 200$

boost controller..200$

thats well in the vacinity of 1500 already with no options for flex fuel or MAP unless you get a d-jetro which is more $$$ again...

Sorry but I tried it and it just wasn't worth the coin for old equipment when i could get new equipment with it all built into one unit, so its also far less clutter in my engine bay..the only extra thing I needed was an air temp sensor 40$ and a boost solenoid 50$...Plus when a hose blew at Sandown my car drove home fine on the inbuilt MAP sensor ....

No reason you can't set-up Vipec/haltech/link like that too. It's just more accurate & safer to do several maps for fine tuning.

Bugger having to switch maps or anything. Anything with content sensor like haltech platinum pro then it dont matter if you mix 98 and e85 in any combination. Do it once properly and you'll never regret it
