When the clutch is applied there is a big noise/rattle.Is this normal? Can't hear the noise in 2nd to fifth maybe on the move and the car too loud?? R31Nismoid
So when you push the pedal to the floor, you hear a rattling sound like some metal plates rubbing against each other lightly? GTRB27
its more like something is loose when 3/4 down and in first no rattle .its weird guys at .CRD sayingnothing wrong with it and you have to use it right away. I like to stay in first when the traffic light is almost green or on the hill maybe i just have to get to used to it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/418554-os-giken-quad-palte-clutch-noisy/#findComment-6723042 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
So what about when its all the way down? I hope you have over 800rwkw, otherwise going a Quad is just silly. 1 they are heavy and a PIA to use, 2 they cost a farken fortune. GTRB27
when its all the way dow its ratteling. still running the engine in with nitto 2.7 full stroker kit sump ex,oil pump and CRD race head but stiking with my unknown drop in cams........ so i thought while the engine is out better do the transmission too (8.5k including other nissan parts for gear sets) next step is big fuel system and presision turbo 400-500 kw mark havent decided yet thats why i went with something big so i dont have to worrie about transmission Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/418554-os-giken-quad-palte-clutch-noisy/#findComment-6723169 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
That's normal then. Only 500kw? You are waaay over clutched, so to speak Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/418554-os-giken-quad-palte-clutch-noisy/#findComment-6723176 Share on other sites
Risking
There is single plate clutches on the market which will handle 500kw...... A twin plate fair enoigh but a quad is by far overkill. Rattle from multi plate clutches is a part of life Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/418554-os-giken-quad-palte-clutch-noisy/#findComment-6723640 Share on other sites
NXTIME
Hi Bruce, Good to see you made it onto SAU and have got the car on the road. Like I may have mentioned to you last year, the quad plate is overkill for what you want and yes, they will rattle. You will get used to it. You have everything engine-wise for 600+kw. Just need a cam upgrade Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/418554-os-giken-quad-palte-clutch-noisy/#findComment-6724136 Share on other sites
