Hey guys havnt been on the forums for ages since i sold me R34, since then had a mazda rx7 and an evo, but like most people with good experiences with their skylines I want to get another one!!

Im looking at a few 32 GTR's on carsales atm and the one i wanted was sold but my second choice is this one:

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-skyline-1989-12839667?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=9&eapi=2&__N=1246%201252%201247%201282%20901%201216&num=15&silo=Stock&items=%5bMake%3aNISSAN%2cModel%3aSKYLINE%2cSeries%3aR32%5d&sort=default

Has anyone seen it, what do you guys think, worth the cash?

By the way im selling an 2009 Yamaha R6 if anyone is interested, mates rates for an SAU member :)

Cheers guys!

Hey its a nice gtr but i would pay no more the 15k these days you would have to go look in person as he said could do with touch up then offered paint so could be bad or hes just likes his cars real clean but yer theres a few nice 32 gtrs on gumtree atm.

what ever GTR you buy you will be up for ongoing issues with the police these days (if you draw attention to yourself) why not buy one of these if your budget stretches a couple of 1000 more

lot more practical and a lot less attention from everyone. still just as good to drive.

ive had a 32R with heaps of power and if i had my time again id get a 260RS and do the same to that instead.

There are but im looking for something that i dont really have to spend money on, every car i have had i have wanted to but mint, bone stock, like a virgin but then i realised i put 10-15k into it and want to sell it or the next upgrade will be a pricey one and i lose money lol im sure we all do this, so im trying to find something here or i will be going to a friends house this weekend and getting one imported !

Ahhhh good ol Stagea, i love them but if i had to pick between a 32gtr and the 260rs id have to go to the 32, just personal preference, plus what would i do with all that boot space :P

Steve long time no see mate, i have come a long way since the day we put the blue led dash lights in my 34 haha! 4 door gtr????? not planning a family just yet so i think two doors is enough for me :D hows that evo of yours go, might have to take the bike out and see what you can do with that lancer ;)

ill give my two cents. Go buy a rolling shell thats neat from a 32 GTR, find a blown engine and rebuild it completely. It will be a pain to begin with but save you allloottt of money and time in the long run.

I own a 32GTR that i have spent shitloads on (probably too much) and i love it. But an 260rs with a 34GTR frontend conversion looks sexy as! And as for the boot space.... fill it with booze, chicks and a matress lol

Hey mate, I'm getting my full motorbike licence really soon... and now looking at a couple R6's so I could be interested.

PM me for a ballpark figure you want? cheers.

edit* and some details like km's and photos would be nice too.. :)

Shit sorry mate, literally got a call after i posted this last night and the bike went today :( let it go for 9.5k ill send you a link on bikesales to give you an idea what you can buy for that money. This was mine,

GTR will have to making some serious power to give me the same feeling that bike did!!

Fark.. looked like a nice bike too and you let go of it pretty quick and for cheap. :)

Anyways, good luck on finding a good GTR.

There was a nice VSPEC one on gumtree the other day for 17k-ish which had plenty of fruit.

Probably gone though.

If its the same one that was on carsales, dark blue one with 34 GTR rims i called a day after it was sold! Yeah bike went cheap, i need something a bit more practical!

Good luck with finding a bike there is an R6 like mine for sale bone stock with like 1500km guy said he doesnt ride it anymore, its up for something like 9,500 but the guy that bought my bike said he would take 8,500!

Have a look at the owner, I've found it well tell you about the car and It's history.

I was lucky when I bought my 32gtr as it was my bosses, had it 3 months now, best thing I ever did was buy a gtr. I was a euro man before, but couldn't resist finding out what all the hype was about.

Buy one thats already built to what you think your future plans maybe,

if you happen to find one thats blown then thats ok too but chances are it still doesnt have the gear your going to need if your hunting for more power.

dont rush into it, be patient and find the right one. Dont be afraid to pay a bit extra either.. a well built GTR is worth its weight in gold (ok slight exageration :))

Agreed, its what I did (not saying its gospel or anything) but all I have to do is maintain it, till I get bored of it some aspect

Well as anyone with a highly or even lightly modified GTR will tell you, it costs a bloody fortune!

and most of the time people are only worried about spending money on the engine.. Stuff like worn

Brakes

driveline

Suspension/bushes and

steering components etc

add up very quickly

so dont just think engine..

    • If you don't touch the CAS, then you're fine.
    • Yeah, my moulds and seals are 32 years old now. I think I will continue to not use a pressure washer on it.
    • I hear the old "I'd never use a pressure washer on my motorbike" BS in the dirtbike community too.  The only people that have had a problem from using a pressure washer on anything are the people that aren't using them properly.  If you hold the wand any more than 45 cms away from pretty much anything (radiators, wiring connectors, paint, etc) you aren't going to cause any damage.  We've had detailers wreck moulds and seals on cars at work before and the only reason why is they held the pressure washer too close and on the one spot for too long.  If you have 5% more brain power than a detailer then you know not to not do that and you'll never have a problem.
    • I'm pretty much healed up post surgery so I spent another almost full day out in the shed re-arranging everything to make room for all of the shit that I've taken off the car.  I need to get everything off the floor and away from the car for when I start making a massive mess stripping off the remaining body deadener and then for the the painting process.  Almost got the shed to a point now where I feel I can actually start working on the car again (clean shed clean mind or something!).  Almost 11 years of accumulated car parts, building supplies, tools, junk, etc have taken a long time to get in some sort of order again!  Most stuff is now boxed up and in the back shed if it's not car related.  Most people would still be horrified walking into my shed but it's significantly better than it was before!   For those that saw my separate post the other day, yeah I ordered one.... This version- I convinced myself to stop being a clown, wake up to yourself and realise it will take you 5 weeks to make one by which stage you're over working on the car again...  Maybe I am getting on top of my "mental ailments" and making smarter choices.... $1450 delivered which will take my miserable half-dutch arse a few days to get over having spent that much!  If I don't have a use for it straight away after my car is off it I might even see if there is a "rental market" for them.  See if anyone wants to hire it for a period of time.  $25 a week or something like that.  I'll worry about that when my car is actually ready to come off it though as that might be a while away!! There's now no excuses now for not ending up with an underside you could eat off! Away for kids sport the next few weekends so hopefully can get the rotisserie assembled ready to go for the car to go straight on it the next available weekend.
    • I always use my Karcher, but it's only a little one that I picked up from Supercheap  The only issue I ever had with a pressure washer was when I was a kid cleaning coaches, they had a hi-po industrial sized petrol jobbie that would strip paint if you got to close I saying this, we have a fairly high power washer at work with a diesel powered heater that sprays water at about 60°c, it works great for removing old wax and road grime on the underbody after some foam cannon action, albeit from a "stand off" distance of a few feet
