mysfit snow trip 2003

guys, just a thought and i would be interested in your invidual feedback

whenever we go on cruises, we tend to end up in groups of 3-4 and never really get to meet the rest of the crew. it is my opinion that this club/association would develop stronger bonds if we had stronger group relationships

therefore i propose: a trip to new zealand for a week in 2003 for the purpose of skiing and getting to know each other.

being together in a hotel for a week would create plenty of opportunities to meet different individuals that you may not normally converse with and also to pick the brains of people that you may feel uncomfortable asking questions of via the forums. for example, how cool would it be to get meggala all to yourself for an hour over a drink to ask for help with your project or boostmeister for some tips on building bits and pieces for your baby.

the reason that i propose the 2003 snow season is that, there are probably a few people on this forum that would require a bit of time to save the necessary dollars and organise time off yadda yadda. it is actually cheaper than i thought but of course, you would need plenty of spending money

not to mention the fact that the snow will provide plenty of opps for rumbo's etc

this is a link to a deal that harvey world travel have for this season and i envisage that we would organise something similar next year

i look forward to your fedback

onarun, i am unsure of approx dates but obviously next winter is the go

at this point i am just trying to gauge some interest

another option for people to consider is a groupr supercruise for a week to targa tasmania

meeting in melbourne, a few days before and putting all the cars on the ferry, obviously this would be more expensive for those of us that live north and west of melbourne but hey these are just ideas, so lets hear yours

have a look at some of the deals these guys can do

this is certainly a good option as we all get to go to targa and achieve my first objective- group cohesion

besides staying at both of the casinos is awesome

and let me tell you there are some great roads for cruising in tasmania

I definately like the idea, dun know about the whole new zealand thing though. All those Skyline owners together for a week with no skylines...I can't afford that much piss

Actually, the idea does sound alright. Have to see if we could work out something for like the June/July holidays or something. Depends on prices I guess, Í don't wanna spend too much money that could be spent on paying off loans or mods

ill see how the money situation is closer to the date but it sounds like a hella good idea.

I went on a tour to NZ b4 with a big group but didnt know all that many of them but it was still hella fun.

Imagine how cool it would be with all the sky boyz and galz, much in common.

While were there lets all chip in and buy a car to kill ehehe that would b fun. ever driven on snow in a $500 car ahahaha all class.

i pity the ppl who get stuck talking crap with me, onarun and birty

Birty, VirginBlue do Brisbane to Sydney for $107

Rod I guess the main thing to work out is do we want to go somewhere where we have our cars? or not.

NZ might be a good option at this point with no cars...and then *thinking ahead* we could have a big national Skylines Australia meet later down the track when the club is properly up and going and all bring our cars

ONARUN has mentioned this before, I think

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
