hey everyone.

ive done a bit of research into this but there are a few details i cant find.

im planning on running an rb25de neo engine with my r33 gts gearbox. will this work and if so what clutch setup do i recquire? not planning on going to a HD clutch as its just a daily.

also i know i need to rewire two sensors which are the AAC and somehting else. do i need to get the plugs off a r34 or?

and finally will it run normally off my r33 ecu like everyone says or will i need to get the ecu reflashed as quickly as possible.

im sure there will be more to ask but that will be later.

cheers.

Your box will work fine, use the clutch/fly setup you already have. If you buy an engine package with the loom ecu etc you can swap the loom on the car to simplify the process or inspect all plugs etc to make sure everything will work/can be modified without tracking down hard to find individual plugs etc.

You can't easily get your R33 ecu "reflashed" so you will be better off with the R34 ecu (you can get that Nistuned).

Not the N/A ECU, it's as flashable as a brick...they only work with an interface ECU like the e-manage

    • It sounds like the perfect time to do easier tasks like, work out how to pull the headlights fully apart, clean them inside and out, and make them meticulous... Or lose all the clips, f**k up polishing the lenses, and get frustrated with that job while you can't do bigger more fun ones and wind up with no usable headlights...   I mean... What?! 😛
    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lipomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, more time to contemplate rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
