Hi guys,

I am new to the forum, my V35 has just recently hit 50k and the clutch had begun to slip, just in need of some advise on what clutch kits (nothing fancy) are best suited for a stock 350gt, I dont have too much money to play around with and before i hit the mechanics i just want a rough idea of how much am i looking at for labour, clutch kit if i were to get it done in Sydney.

thanks :)

Replacing clutches is usually an expensive job for a shop to do. If i were you, i'd be replacing other parts at the same time but if your strapped for cash you can get a good quality clutch that will hold the factory power for under $400. I would go for a clutch & flywheel combo as there's some good discounts and deals going on them. But it depends what you want, do you want a heavy duty clutch? twin plate or even triple?

Hi mate, sinlge plate heavy duty + flyhweel combo sounds good enough for me, I know that the flywheels on the 350z and v35s are dual mass and needs to be replaced anyway. I had an excedy heavy duty clutch done on my old r34gtt about 2 years ago at a mechanic for $1700 all up. I just dont know if thats the case for the V.

Ok i'd jump on either conceptzperformance.com or jm auto racing in the states and look up a couple of the clutch and flywheel combo's they've got going. I'm just about to do a CD009 gearbox swap in my car and i've purchased a Southbend clutch and flywheel combo for $750 which is a bargain.

$1700 LOL. I'd be finding a new mechanic. I've got a shop here to do my work for me which includes: Gearbox clutch flywheel rear main seal throw out bearing gearbox oil and clutch fluid change. ALSO ss clutch lines and pivot ball change for $700... not sure how different the r34's are to work on but that sounds insanely overpriced

i its street driven only i'd steer clear of twin plates unless its Nismo. ive driven a BCNR33 with a nismo twinplate and it was exceptional! great feel and bite but very streetable, much more friendly than the twinplate in mine, which only feels good when youre driving hard and is a PITA in traffic.
