Partners 2011 Golf GTi is exactly 6km out and VW say they are all the same I know my R34 is about 1km out but i assume its the tyre size being 1% off stock maybe...

manfacturers actually put a difference in from factory.

i believe it to be to compensate for different brand tyres and the like.

My GTR is 8km out, where-as my daily driven EG civic is over 10km out, so when it shows 60 i'm doing 50!

Yep, checked it VS various GPS etc and gone through heaps of speed cameras exactly 6 over and no problem, they reckon there is nothing that can be done about it!

My car is pretty close though which is handy, although with a speedo that only goes to 180 it is pretty useless

Your Civic is defectable then...

That means at 120KM/H on the speedo, you're doing 100KM/H... This means you're 16% out... Which is outside the boundaries...

It should be legal for you to nudge dream boats that sit in the right lane and aren't over taking.

and the 80km thing should be dropped to > 10.

None of those road rules should be a surprise to anyone...

Edit: Manufactures actually make them read over so they get no law suits from noobs that got a speeding fine from a brand new car. It's just to cover their ass.
