4 To 5 Seater?

my r33 has only have 4 seatbelts and therefore was compiled as a 4 seater although i was wondering how much effort it would be to throw a lapbelt in the back and make it a 5 seater legally/

had a search on vicroads website and it says if its a factory option then it doesnt have to be engineered.

even called vicroads for clarification but the dude was a kent and just said look online.

someone must of done this before any info would be appreciated

are you sure? i thought some came as 5 seaters, i know theres a thread with people being suprised to find a seatbelt tucked under the seat after being compiled as a 4 seater. mine just has two bolt holes which came from factory so im thinking it couldve been an option

The Mrs R34 is a 5 seater. It is also a sedan. Does that make a difference?

If it's a coupe, to my knowledge they're all 4 seaters.

my r34 GTT 1999 coupe has 5 seatbelts. sure, i'm the second owner in australia but to my knowledge that middle seatbelt in the back is factory.........

maybe i should check when i get home today

well i know theres a few threads of people saying they found middle lap belts hidden under the seat and mine defiently has factory mounting points so im leaning towards thinking there mightve been an option.

My R33 GTS-t is a 5 seater with 5 seatbelts (and two 4 point harnesses, rendering the rear seats extremely uncomfortable ). I have pulled the seat out enough times to know that it isn't hard to forget to pull the middle belt up on reinstallation.

GT-Rs are all 4 seaters I believe

so does anyone know the law and can tell me if i need to have it engineered or not
