deansr33
Hey guys, I’ve heard of these tuners on the net that you apparently can send in the list of mods you have done and they tune it as best as they can. Then you go get a dyno run and check your mixtures and if they are not 100% you can send it back and they will adjust it for free. The reason for me looking into this is its $200 and I’m trying to do up my r33 gtst as cheap as i can as i have a young family and I don’t have the luxury to spend thousands on my toy so its a slow cheap project. I’m not planning for it to be to crazy I’m hoping to have a r34 side mount water cooled and 3 inch full system fuel pump standard air box with k&n panel Has anyone had experience with these internet tuners what’s everyone opinion? Dobz
You don't need to touch the ecu with small mods like that. The main thing is you don't put the boost any higher than 12psi. After that the ecu starts fingering itself. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/419571-internet-tune/#findComment-6743183 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
$200 fora R33... Sounds very wrong. As above, if budget - 10psi is fine (12 can trip it out). Nothing will beat a proper tune and 'mailorder' tunes will not be much better than a stock ECU as you have to be so conservative. deansr33
ok thanks guys, I understand this is a round about question but how much would you pay for a normal tune at a shop in vic? Also what mods would you recoment to do on the cheap for some decent power? Dean Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/419571-internet-tune/#findComment-6744394 Share on other sites
Manuel Kasko
Normal tune $600-1500 depending on workshop. Tunable ECU is between the same $500-4000 depending on brand. Decent power depends on what you think is decent and again how much you can budget into it. Reliable power and low budget do not mix at all sorry to say Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/419571-internet-tune/#findComment-6744438 Share on other sites
deansr33
ok so if i was to do full 3 inch system fuel pump k&n pannel water coolded r34 intercooler 10 psi maybe a tune later on down the track that would be ok power? there is nothing else i could do on the cheap and for those mods what kind of fuel pump do i get? and would you bother with injectors? Manuel Kasko
With a budget build I wouldn't bother with injectors because they will require a tune The stuff you have listed will be fine without a tune as long as you make sure it's 10psi and no more. With a tune it would make a huge difference though. I went a walbro 255 as they are easy to fit and no expensive. Got mine for $200 including the install Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/419571-internet-tune/#findComment-6744622 Share on other sites
deansr33
ok cool what injectors would you use to match the 255 ? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/419571-internet-tune/#findComment-6744765 Share on other sites
Manuel Kasko
ok cool what injectors would you use to match the 255 ? As I said Injectors will require a tune And cost a good $600+ If you were worried about spending $200 I would be just sticking to the basics Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/419571-internet-tune/#findComment-6744843 Share on other sites
