Hi Scott, so sorry to hear your news.

The husband of a woman at work found out he had one the size of a cricket ball! They did an operation last year and he's come out ok. If you like I can get the info on the doctor's cause apparently he's one of the best around (confirmed by another co-worker who's father also had brain surgery).

If you were looking forward to it working on your car and the doctors didn't think it will affect your health then I say do it. Keep yourself in good spirits and doing the things that you enjoy and want to do.

Sorry to hear this Scott!

Is the growth a Glioma(eg astrocytoma) or is it benign?

If you don't know, they will do a biopsy to find out what type it is. It may be just a benign growth. I hope so - I pray so.

Sweeteners 951 and 950 in chewing gum and diet drinks can cause/accelerate gliomas. Stay away from them aka aspartame and acesulphame.

It's a glioma don't know it's nature yet though its large and slow growing, nothing showed up in blood tests so hopefully it's benign. Doctor thinks surgeon will just take it out rather than biopsy but Monday will tell I'm going to professor mark sherridon at Liverpool and if he can't help Charlie teo just have to wait and see I guess, thanks for your thoughts.

One of my best mates had a large brain tumour removed (it looked like a clump of cauliflower!).

His was about the same size and it was located around the nerves that control the hearing for his left ear. He had his tumour sucessfully removed (about 10 years ago now) and is fine now. When I say fine but not perfect he lost all hearing in his left ear and was a bit vague for 12 months but certainly better than being dead.

Modern medical science is pretty amazing nowadays mate so you'll be right!

Things like this make you realise and then appreciate the more important things in life- family, friends and fun.

Yup, if safe medically to do so, retain your current lifestyle / your hobbys. Is the best you can do to keep yourself mentally stimulated and positive.

I wish you all the best through this challenge, and if the is anything myself or the club could do for you, just ask. I'm sure people can make it happen. :)

How are you feeling today Scott?

Some days when you wake up, it'll feel like, "Surely this is just a bad dream - right?"

As days tick by, even the emotions change.

Numbness > Disbelief > Anger > Despondency > Rationalising > Mustering faith to fight etc.

Even taste in the music one listens to, changes.

Anyway, a journey it is. And I hope your journey doesn't have many rotten bumps or quicksand!

      So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you

      I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'

      D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.

      KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.

      Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
