Steering Wheel Volume/track Control

Hey Guys,

Just curious I had a clarion head deck installed in place of the factory standard, was wondering if I could hook up the volume/track control which is on the steering wheel to this new head deck, I was told by the guy who installed this that this wasn’t possible however I believe anything this simple should be possible could anyone shed light on whether or not these controls can be configured for this new head deck.

Does your deck support external switches?

If so, there should be instructions for the setup procedure. You will need to connect the 2 wires from the steering wheel (may already be at back of stereo) to the wires on your deck & then teach it what resistance = what control.

Chris, I have both the PAC SWI-X and the Metra Axxess (don't ask why).

I am running a pioneer avh-p8450bt - of the two ,its, which do you recommend. I was to,d to use the Metra so bought that, but seeing as I also have a PAC I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask which is better for my head unit.
