hi, I have ran into another problem with my rb25 build..

I have a set of 202-5406 which are a custom arp kit with three extra long studs for the higher parts of the girdle. Now from what I have read the studs are wound in by hand until they bottom out and then you torque the nuts to 70lbft or so. The problem I have encountered is the studs seem to short.. with the girdle installed there is only 5mm of thread protruding out of the top! obviously by the time I have installed the washer, the nut will literally have two threads holding it...

can I just undo the stud a few turns to gain the threads for the nut?

I cant seem to find anyone who has had this problem..

what would be nice is a measurement of the stud for comparison to see if they have sent the wrong ones...

cheers for any info

Have you got the right stud kit for starters and have you installed the right lengths at the right points?

Are they ALL only 5mm out?

Also, are all the main caps seated properly? Tapped them down flat with a nylon hammer?
