We here in the ACT have to wait weeks to get parts.

Also given they are worth like $10 each, I can see ACT workshops charging like $400 each for them

Just called him and the convo goes like this

Me: "hey mate would you have any shims for an R33 diff by any chance?"

Him: "in what way do you mean?"

Me: "Umm what do you mean what way..I have a part number if that helps?"

Him: "what size"

Me: "0.85mm"

Him: "where does it go?"

Me: "inside the diff...I don't know how to explain it really. Once you pull the centre out you can shim it to lock better"

Him "ohh umm nahh"

Me: "so you don't have shims?"

Him: "yeah we do"

Me: "how many diffs have you shimmed?"

Him: "about 4000"

I just say see ya and hang up at this point

Hahaha was he a youngish guy... I went out there a few weeks ago to get shims and i got some clueless young guy and he wasnt helpful but the time before that i spoke to the owner and he was helpfull and had the parts there for me

He sounded fairly young lol

Was nearly as good as a workshop telling me they wanted $850-900 to replace the bearings in my diff.

This was after I told him that it was already out of the car & I would install it back in myself

I will find out from one of the boys at my shop how much he can do the bearings for if you want.

If not maybe southern diffs

yeah from nissan. i dont think we do from memory but they can be freighted overnight
