Hey SAU'ers,

I need some help

My R33 gtst wont start or even crank. I just get a clicking sound.

My internet searches suggest it maybe a faulty immobiliser, alternator, or battery ?

I haven't driven it in a few weeks so I checked the battery it was 10.25v

will check alternator but If anyone has had this problem or have any suggestions

Would be very helpful

give it a jump start mate... should fire up.

yeah but it's in the garage and driveway is up hill lol

Do you thinks its battery/alternator or immobiliser related

It doesn't every turnover once just starts clicking

battery mate..... had it a few times after leaving the car for a couple of weeks with the alarm on.... jump start it if you can or take the battery out and charge it.. should be fine. take it for a good run then test the voltage again.

if you have another car, just take the battery out of that one and chuck it into your 33 to check if its battery. definitely sounds like it. if your car starts right up then just go out and buy another battery!

just did this on the weekend.

do this. but dont buy a new battery. get it discharge tested. could just need a good charge. dont waste 150 bucks.

yeah, true that. thing is, my car is drive only on weekends and it's been fine for the entire time i've had it (2 months since i bought it) but 2 weeks ago it started to startup quite roughly. and on driving at night, i thought my interior lighting seemed a bit dimmer than usual...not to mention when i flicked on the high beams, my entire electronics seemed to dim and it sounded like my car nearly stalled. so nek morning i went and changed the battery. may have wasted 150$ but at least now i know this battery is brand new, previous owner wasn't the best...

if it's at 10v then the battery is completely dead. it has dropped a cell. charging won't do a thing.

a healthy battery should handle only being driven on weekend, or every second or 3rd weeknd just fine. i had an old vh commodore that i didn't start for 3 months. the battery was still fine when i hopped in to move it to mow the lawn.

and yeah, if your lights dim, etc, then your alternator is shagged, or the wiring is.

Its straight up a flat battery, just get a jump pack start it up, leave it running for a good 15 mins or drive it around, turn it off and try starting it after an hour, if it doesnt start you just need a new battery.

If it was the starter motor or alternator you would only get one click

wwwwtffffffffff

car started fine last week and today but then middle of the day tried to start and it sounded exactly like it was struggling to start before i changed the battery.

now i think it might be alternator/wiring as mad082 said above aaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhh
