Haha they just said there is enough timing adjustment in the cas so won't really need the sict for what I am doing. Its only a small thing to take our some fuel. I am changing motors later down the road

yea i get ya.... but id still rather use that than mess with the cas!

soon as would be great mate. need to get rid of em this week to pay my tuning bill! 200 is delivered, and pay pal price.

right. seems SAFC II is sold... unless this guy ^ is a nigerian prince and has stolen all the money in my pay pal account!

we will call it 180 nego for the SITC. cheapest one on the internet.

money is in paypal dude, well was. just transfered it last night so it hits my cash account friday...

sitc is also sold. will send both out saturday.

SITC is in my hands now, very good condition, good guy to deal with.

Whatever mechanic told you that there's enough adjustment in the CAS is smoking crack.

The CAS only adjusts BASE timing, the SITC allows timing adjustment at different RPM points and interpolates between them.

If you wind in more or less timing with the CAS all that does is add or subtract it from the entire rev range which is ENTIRELY undesirable. If you wind out too much timing (retard) to avoid high end detonation it will come on boost sluggishly and will not make decent peak torque and will rev slowly and generally be a dog to drive, you also run the risk of increasing EGT's way too much if you retard too far.

If you advance too much to make it come on boost harder and rev properly you will have way too much timing at peak torque and peak power which essentially means the engine will go boom.

I'm not trying to scare you, harass you or give you a hard time, I just want you to be informed so that your mechanic is not pulling a dodgy on you and doing things that will ultimately end up with lacklustre performance or worse, a busted car, which he will then charge you to fix after having already charged you for the work...

Thanks Paul, can't wait to install :)

That's cool, all I wanted whenI Igot mine was to add a bit of fuel but you quickly realize it's a balancing act. By adding fuel my timing was being retard which made it sluggish.

In your case, removing fuel, it will have the affect of advancing the timing, pushing you closure to the knock threshold.

The work around is wind the CAS back, which then makes it sluggish...

See how you go, but just understand that any fuel adjustment produces a subsequent timing change.

Feel free to PM me if needed.

Cheers

    • It's the adhesive holding the ceramic wheel to the shaft the fails on 90% of them.
    • Foreign debris, physical shock, boost leak, could be anything honestly. The danger in taking all the timing out of a tune/hitting the R&R corner is that even if the engine doesn't detonate your turbo is taking a lot of abuse from high EGT. Also, even if nothing goes wrong it is a journal bearing that is spinning at 100k RPM on boost. Eventually it goes through enough cold start/pressure cycles to wear it out.
    • I kinda accidentally saw this, and was interested, but It actually seems to replaces the whole center computer, using the existing screen and buttons. AND it may only be for a G37 and not compatible with a Japanese 370. So its not for me, but someone else may be interested to look into it. Its about $680USD. If I am understanding it right, it basically replaces/installs and android pc that integrates with the existing screen. But I could be wrong. https://gromaudio.com/vline/ The video I first saw was the following, with very little and unclear details.     Even if your not interested in the system, the video on their site was pretty comforting in showing how simple the whole centre comes out
    • hfygrte52 what side you looking for? Do you care what color car it's off? Found a white LH side on here: https://skylinespares.com.au/product/nissan-skyline-r33-coupe-rear-tail-light/   Aussie parts place but will ship to USA. Maybe get it before there's a tarrif on 25yo shit box parts
    • I’m with Shannon’s for all 5 of our cars. Agreed values seem fair, premium price is okay. ($210 ish a month, all comprehensive).  Have claimed once with them for a not at fault claim with another car where my car had no damage. Was one call after the incident and an email after. Deemed not at fault so premium didn’t go up either.    I have called up and spoken with people who are not familiar with certain cars and didn’t agree with me on value or let their personal vehicle preferences effect the call. But called back later and got someone else who was more agreeable.
