Recommended Posts

PRICE DROP FROM $9000! I will not go any lower than $7500! Consider the price $9k, but then i've done the haggling for you. Swaps considered, preferably for a fuel efficient car.

Engine:
EJ20k. Rebuilt at 241000kms (44000kms old), with reciepts.
VF22 turbo with turbo beanie
Walbro GSS342 fuel pump
ASI silicone intake
K&N Panel filter
90mm PVC intake trumpet on standard airbox
3" Xforce turbo back exhaust, dump pipe heat wrapped, into a Hitech single tip oval muffler

The engine seems to be in great condition and goes very well. There doesn't appear to be any engine leaks or weird noises.

Driveline:
V4 STI 5 speed gearbox and diffs (4.44)
Standard spec. organic clutch

The gearbox seems to be in good condition, with no real grinds or anything. It sometimes feels like it could engage 2nd easier, most likely due to worn shifter bushes... the shifter is quite sloppy. There appears to be a bit of a leak from the very rear of the gearbox and is most likely due to a worn output shaft seal. I'm very conscious of the gearbox when driving, and never launch or shift hard.

Suspension
BC BR gold series coilovers (less than 5000kms old)
BC adjustable camber tops front and rear
Whiteline 24mm rear sway bar (standard front)
Street/aggressive alignment by Centreline Suspension

The car handles really well.

Brakes
GD 4 pot front calipers (painted black) with standard rotors
Intima SR front brake pads
Standard single pot rears (painted black)

I broke part of the right hand side handbrake assembly when upgrading the brakes, so had to remove it from the hub. My handbrake therefore does not work at the moment. It hasn't bothered me so far, but i did plan to either fix the assembly, find a spare one, or install a hydraulic handbrake. The Intima SR pads are pretty new and are suitable for temps up to 700C (ie. track).

Wheels and Tyres:
16x7" MY98 WRX 5 spoke wheels
Bridgestone RE001 tyres (205/50r16)

Tyres are in pretty good condition, as are wheels.

Exterior:

Standard except for:
MY99 headlights
MY99 grill (needs to be colour coded)
MY99 rear spoiler (needs to be colour coded)

The body is pretty straight, with the odd small bump here and there. The car has been resprayed at some stage and looks pretty good when clean. There is however some area where the clear coat has blistered. The roof has completely lost it's clear coat. The boot has a blister of about 20x20cm and the rear a-pillar has one of about 7x20cm. I've also just added a MY99 grill and spoiler, and these have just been quickly rattle canned black. I could help organise paint repairs and colour coding for around $500.

Interior:
Fire extinguisher mounted on transmission tunnel, below rear seat
Pioneer head-unit
Kenwood 6" front speakers
Pioneer 6"x9" rear speakers
Pioneer amp
Grey cloth on seats has been dyed black

The interior is in pretty good condition.

Above is a description of how the car will be setup when sold. The car currently has additional modifications fitted (which will be removed before sale). These include:

Power FC and hand controller, tuned by Pro-Tek Automotive for e85
Eboost street (40psi)
Five-O-motorsports 1000cc sidefeed injectors
V4 STI 90mm AFM
Car makes 217kw ATW with this setup

... with the standard ecu, etc, fitted the car won't be making 217kw, but should be making good power over stock due to the VF22, exhaust, and intake. The handling and braking capability is much better than stock too. Even without 217kw, it's still a quick, great handling and stopping street car that could handle the track too.

Let me know if you'd like the car in it's current modified state! ($9000 FIRM)

I don't really want to sell my car... I've spent quite a bit of time and money on the car in the last 12 months. Unfortunately though, a decision to further my study this year means I don't think i can afford to hang onto it. My build thread (link below) should give you some good info on the car. I don't think it would need much for a roadworthy. It passed a RWC less than a year ago. If you have any questions, or would like to check it out, please don't hesitate to contact me.

**** If you really want the car for less than $7500, I could remove a few more parts, however replacement parts will not be fitted. I could remove the following parts: Exhaust (minus $500), Rear swaybar (minus $100), Front brakes ($400), Wheels/tyres (minus $250), Coilovers (minus $700), Turbo (minus $400), MY99 headlights (MY98 ones re-fitted - minus $200).

AD UPDATED!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(03/05/13) I've just had the car in at Protek where I had the handbrake fixed, gearbox leak (rear extension housing) fixed, Engine and gearbox oil change, and roadworthy inspection ($884). I've also just added 6 months registration ($290)

Price: Prices are absolutely FIRM. I had already reduced the prices as low as I would go, and have since spent $1100 on it.

$6500 Standard: turbo, ecu, injectors, AFM, TMIC, exhaust.
$7000 VF22, STI ecu/AFM/injectors.
$7500 VF22, STI ecu/AFM/injectors, 3" TBE.
$8000 VF22, STI ecu/AFM/injectors, 3" TBE, BPM TMIC.
$9000 In its current modified form.

+$500 for paint repairs
+$1000 V6 STI front bar and lip painted/fitted, plus paint repairs

WILL CONSIDER TRADES!
Preferably s13/14/15's, rx7's, etc, but will consider others. Can add some cash on top for the right trade.

RWC: I can supply a RWC at the buyers expense. The following items have been identified as needing addressing:

-1 seat belt has some fraying. I was advised this could be fixed with a lighter.
-Exhaust too loud and too low. Temporarily fitting a standard one would be cheapest/easiest option.
-Rear diff slightly weeping oil. I was advised that washing it would be fine.
-Rear bar loose. I had a tow bar removed and apparently some bolts were not but back in place. Easy fix!
-Brake lines aren't clipped to coilovers.
-Front swaybar link bushes need replacing.
-LHF wheel bearing needs replacing. A secondhand hub could be the cheapest/easiest.
-Wiper blades.
-LHF power window too slow. It seems fine to me. I was advised just to lube it up.

    • Am I correct in thinking that even if you flat a rear, you'll have to fit the spare to the front anyway? I'm thinking that the LSD will thank you for not inflicting a massive permanent speed difference on it.

    • Yeah not sure what the warranty was, but it will be years outside it.  I've shot Link a message, will see what happens, I'm told their support is good. It is a plug in, so its a Link board in a factory case, very easy to access both sides of the circuit board by removing the top or bottom cover. To be fair the the Link, although I've checked to the factory connections and wiring specs, as we learned with Neil's car in the early days not all ECUs source power the same way. He'd been running a factory ECU with no trouble for years, but when we plugged a PowerFC in it wouldn't start up, just kept cycling power on and off. We worked out that the car was missing one of the 10a fuses "Electronic Parts", and to Neil's knowledge it had never been there. Turns out the ECU pulled its main power from that source not the same place the factory ECU did.  Point being....there are multiple battery and ECCS power sources in the factory ECU, and multiple grounds as well....not telling from the outside exactly what the Link uses (and doesn't use)
    • Now, thanks to sonicii, onto the uneven floor from a tyre sticking 100mm into the boot space. I looked into options to raise the floor to the level of the tyre, and ended up going Extruded Polystyrene (XPS). EPS is what I normally think of as polystyrene, the annoying tiny balls that get glued into a flat sheet but XPS is quite different, much firmer and doesn't crumble if you touch it with anything. I also looked at things like heavy duty seating foam but XPS seemed like the right way. I picked up 3x 1200x600x50 sheets for $40ea. Initially I was looking for 100mm sheets because I needed to make up a 100mm gap, but as it turned out 50mm was available, much easier to work with and made it simple to store the tools I used a simple 15cm foam cutter to make the shapes. With some practice I was able to make reasonably clean cuts but I don't think Clark Rubber are going to be calling me to offer a job. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/405092315205?var=675175481574 First layer in place, 3 dimensions are tricky! Second layer in place, bringing it to level with the top of the spare Cutouts in the top layer for the tools With floor back in place, nice and flat with 100mm stolen but no real impact on usability
