M35 Head Unit - What Have You Got?

Now that I have my cruise control in and operating I'm looking at the stereo controls and want to get those working but I have to replace the factory Japanese spec head unit. The only thing I dislike about anon factory head unit is how far they stick out from the fascia. Has anyone got pics of their set up with a head unit that sits fairly well in the dash? It doesn't have to be perfect but I prefer understated rather than look at me.

I was thinking a Sony XAV601BT or something. My main concern is bluetooth and video inputs. I haven't put much research into anything yet.

Not really too bothered with navigation and such as I have a GPS and can use my phone.

Recently replaced my single DIN factory unit with a Clarion CZ702A. Good sound, harnesses available direct plugin and steering wheel controls, and best thing is you can change the colour to match factory orange.

Not cheap IMHO, but it was simple plug and play. IIRC it was in the vicinity of $130.

Where did you get the connections from? I'm like you I just want plug and play! SO you don't have the steering conmtrols operational yet?

Got them from a local Autopro store. Just find out who sells Aerpro gear near you and order in the same parts. No steering wheel controls yet as I'm still yet to fit up the Cruise Control unit (have had it for months - self fail).

I thought the factory bose sounded pretty good. will get a fm transmitter to fit to my smart phone/ mp3 player to play downloaded stuff
