Strange Sound In Front End?

Hey guys,

I have just bought a 1997 r33 gtst..

I have only just noticed it has a loud front end sound on the left hand side it sounds like it is like a loud tick sounds hard to explain it kind of sounds like metal on metal and its not a rock in my tread.

I had a look under my car and there are no bushes missing or damaged any ideas?

the tie rod end on that side looks kinda new not really sure if it is though

When does it do it? Only when turning corners? Or anytime?. If it's anytime, check the brake pads. They have a wear indicator tab that makes a noise once the pads get low

Does the car make the sound when driving (in motion and in gear)?

Does the car make the sound when revving in neutral?

Does the sound happen in any specific gear or RPM range?

Jack up the front of the car so that the wheels are slightly off the ground and try wobble the wheel horizontally and vertically.

It could be the following:

- Tie rods

- Damaged bushes

- Knocking in shocks

- Something that isn't bolted on correctly or isn't bolted at all

I had all of the above LOL and also a really annoying metal on metal rattling sound which turned out to be my catalytic converter which the honey comb part had dislodged itself.

ok ill try all that it happens in any gear going straight or turning i found i couldnt hear it when i was going faster but that could be just the wind carrying the sound.

I took the wheel off to have a propper look and i could hear something in the tyre and i bounched it and it made the same sound there is something inside in thanks anyways guys you have been a massive help
