Hey guys,

Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong section for this question - I couldn't find the forum section for this sort of problem.

I've just finished putting an RB26DETT into my R34, however after finishing wiring the car up we started it up, let it run for a little while. Then decided that was enough for the time being, removed key, engine stayed running.

So far -

- Car has no power (ie nothing on dash lights up, windows don't work etc) prior to key going in. (normal)

- Key turned to ignition, everything primes fine. (normal)

- Car starts beautifully on key-turn. (normal)

This is where things get weird

- Removing key has no effect on engine

- Stalling the car doesn't stop the car thinking it's still in ignition, dash lights stay on it

- Once the engine has stopped running, disconnecting then reconnecting battery makes the car acts properly thinking the key isn't in and doesn't have any power. (back to normal, ie first step of this list)

Does anyone know what might be the cause of this?

Cheers all

Will just answer on PSIKO's behalf as I was there yesterday helping. No turbo timer in the car presently as it was literally just a straight engine install. We're wondering whether there is the possibility that a faulty relay would cause the ignition not to shut off when the key is turned off? But the old RB25 would turn on and off with no problem - really weird.
