Hey,

Wanting to swap out my RB25DE to a RB25DET, Question I'm having trouble finding the answer to is what i need exactly?

I know i need the engine, but is that all? Or do i need the GTT gearbox and wiring loom/harnesses? Or are the non turbo ones compatible with the turbo engine?

This is for an R34

Cheers

suggest you get as much of the conversion bits n pieces as you can . . its the missing bits that can make or break a big job like this

Thanks, But the reason I'm asking is i don't really want to pay for bits i possibly do not need for a swap. Like i gearbox isn't exactly cheap so if i can use the non turbo r34 gearbox with the turbo engine that would be great

from what ive been told the natro and turbo boxes were the same..... were the input shafts different sizes?

for the conversion, get an entire r34 gtt frontcut and that will give you anything and everything.

A full proper conversion will consist of:

- RB25DET

- Turbo

- Turbo Dump pipe with front pipe for it (cannot confirm if the same with NA)

- ECU

- Possibly engine Loom

- Tripple Gauge Cluster

- Drive shaft (been told it's bigger)

- Rear Diff

- Rear hubs (NA have eyelet type shock mounting points, GTT's have a fork type. This may probably not be that necessary)

- R34 GTT Suspension (or at least the rear fork shocks, again possibly not necessary)

- GTT Calipers & Disc

- BM50 Brake Master Cylinder

- Possibly a brake booster

- Intercooler

- Larger Exhaust (not sure if necessary but I'm quite certain it's just for added performance)

Thing's you need to do:

- Swap parts over

- Use circular saw to saw a hole for intercooler (I can give you reference points where to saw)

I may have left a few small things out but this is coming from myself owning a NA 34, while wrecking a 34 GTT (wrecked two). If you need parts, I can supply the following:

- RB25DET - YES

- Turbo - YES

- Turbo Dump pipe with front pipe for it (cannot confirm if the same with NA) - YES

- ECU - YES

- Possibly engine Loom - YES

- Tripple Gauge Cluster - YES, Cluster only, no cover

- Dash with Tripple gauge cluster cut out - YES

- Drive shaft (been told it's bigger) - YES (off a Sedan, unsure if same or not, though I have a manual GTT coupe, probably works)

- Rear Diff - YES

- Rear hubs - YES

- R34 GTT Suspension - NO

- GTT Calipers & Disc - YES

- BM50 Brake Master Cylinder - YES

- Possibly a brake booster - YES

- Intercooler - NO

- Larger Exhaust (not sure if necessary but I'm quite certain it's just for added performance) - YES

A/T Gearbox - YES (if you need)

I think the dash loom could possibly be a little different to accommodate the triple gauge cluster, I have that too and can throw in if you grab em off me. PM me if you have questions :)

That is what you need if you are trying to turn your na into a gtt. Half of that stuff isn't needed. You don't need to change the brakes, diff, suspension and triple gauge cluster. Some na models came with the better brakes already on them. Yes you will need a bigger exhaust (unless you have an aftermarket exhaust already, but you really want a 3" exhaust).
