Hi Guys,

I haven't searched around and haven't been able to get the answer i am after.

I'm really interested in the exoticspeed r1-t exhaust (catback) and was wondering if anyone has the same config and can tell me whether they experience in-cabin droning on normal street use.

Or if anyone has a catback exhaust with minimal droning that they would recommend...

Thanks in advance.

i got the exotic speed......its pretty good on normal street use....its loud when only when u hit the gas hard...however, on highway driving you will notice the drone effect...not a lot but still u will have some drone effect....i am assuming u will have that in most exhausts.....i may be wrong...

Hey Shiva, you reckon you can measure the length of your system from y-pipe back for me?

Sorry dude, i dont think i can do that but will try to drop into my mechanic and see if i can do it but on another note, I got mine from a SAU member in perth, myself and a friend of mine fitted it into the V. It was pretty tight. Later took it to a mechanic and found that there were some heating issues at certain places as the exhaust was too tight and close to the body. Took it to a muffer shop and had to weld a piece into the exhaust to make it fit perfect.....so would suggest you look into the dimensions right....

I have the Exoticspeed R2 titan Si on my 370z and if there is one thing i can suggest if you are looking at getting one of these exhausts, do as i did and get the silenced version I cannot imagine how loud the non silenced is when you step on it hahaha. But there is little to no drone (except in high gear going up inclines ofcourse) and I am running the system with the Exoticspeed high flow cats to match. As for the fitment on my car (I purchased mine from exoticspeed in canada direct (6 days to get it here and i live in rural qld thats nuts)) its perfect, tips aligned beautifully couldn't be happier for $1400 delivered!

I give it a 10/10 and my mates agree with me.

the thing is Joshua has got it on his 370 and not a V35....the exotic speed exhaust for a perfect match for the Z's however since the the body length of the V35 is bigger, it might be short of few inches, as i said earlier, i was able to install it without any modification but it was tight....to have it free falling and sit perfect, you might have to modify to fit....i got the exhaust for $600 (6months old) and spent a $100 for modify to fit...so am happy with the outcome....i still saved money and no one is going to look under the body to see the exhaust weld...

on another note, i can measure the stock exhaust length which is sitting in my garage, maybe you can cross verify the length of the exotic speed specification to see if it matches that...if you want to, I will do that...

The only way I have seen aftermarket exhausts stop the drone is using Helmholtz chambers to reflect the drone frequencies back. Some of the better Japanese companies use these in their Jasma designs, also seen on the ark test pipes I believe. As it requires a large amount of R+D they are usually the more expensive systems.
