Hi Guys,

I'm guessing most of you read the US and/or UK forums as they tend to have more than the average 1 post per day on this forum lol.... Anyway that being the case you've probably seen the threads from the guy making the plug n play kits in the UK to upgrade the standard weak Bose subs??

I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the overall sound quality of the standard gear as I though it would have been quite good with the Bose system. Nissan seem to have made a real feature of the twin subs between the rear seats but then put piss-poor quality units in them making them really to be a joke imo.

I'm hoping that a quality sub will help out the bottom end and improve overall sound so I have put my name down and bought a kit. Andy, the guy who's making them is a great guy to deal with and was very happy to ship to Australia.

Anyway here's the thread (I'm guessing it's ok to link to??) http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/174137-dynamat-new-amp-sub-install.html

I'm expecting to receive mine very soon so happy to give first-hand feedback once it's installed if anyone's interested.

The biggest issue with stock is the OEM sub box is ABS plastic... If it was moulded compressed board or even masonite, it would resonate so much better with the Bose subs..

That being said, I don't drive the hood with the ole Doof Doof thing happening trying to pick up chicks - I let the exhaust growl grab the attention instead :P

Looks like a great kit though. ^ as above, drop us some feedback once its all installed :D

Let me clarify here.

I have a midpipe. I also had a titanium exhaust from the midpipe back. I sold the titanium midpipe back section as it was simply too loud and droned.

With or without either section it sounds crap in my opinion. The note (with any combination) is not pleasant to the ear.

I am not alone in this opinion, but everyone's opinion is valid.

No, because I'm a lazy bastard. My next 2 weekends are pretty full but the one after that.....I can see a late night in my garage with some music and plenty of alcohol to keep the enthusiasm going. I hope I don't make a mess of things!

From all reports on the UK thread, they reckon it's very worthwhile. I will definitely report back here - give me 3 weeks....

    • I'll tell her I put in a new air filter on it, which, it would have anyway with the ITB's In the end she isn't to fussed, she spends lots of money on hair, nails, make-up and all the other "required" beauty products that women use, plus I grease the wheels with shiny gifts and holidays wherever and whenever I can She once questioned my car spending "budget", but after itemising everything she spends on herself, and what I spend on her, and the fact that I don't care if she does or doesn't wear make-up and fancy pants perfume, or requires new outfits for every wedding, funeral or anything else she deems worthy, and I'm quite happy to go "real" camping, instead of staying in hotels or jaunts on cruise ships, she decided not to press the subject on how I spend funds, and has never asked "how much did that cost" again, so a win to me And how often can you say you really get a win with the fairer sex? She is a good woman, and in the big picture, I'm really lucky.....that she hasn't killed me yet
    • What will you do when the Minister of War and Finance says the intake noises are too loud?
    • Will the clear coat dissolve the ink tho?? I thought about clear vinyl tape too. Thinking what to do haha. The one I have now is cracked in 1 spot, otherwise mint. Plus the MINES one is much thicker plastic material so its not flimsy at all.
    • No. Go a different colour, and just trim it at an edge line. Even manufacturers do different panels different colours etc.
    • I see no real downsides to ITB's, apart from the initial cost of my drive in drive out lifestyle, the "upsides" is they sound cool and would add lots of smiles I am willing to pay to play for the extra smiles I've spent the morning googling and youtubing the BBR ITB's, a "little" extra power and throttle response, but alot more dort, and really, I'm only really in it for the dort Who knows, after all this money is spent I might even make 150kwatw....LOL
