Yo-yo,

If you look at the power to weight specs in the video, they are listed in kg/ps - ie kilograms per horse. Although they call it a power to weight ratio, it's actually a weight to power ratio, so the lower number is better.

The coupe is 4.96, and the sedan is 5.07 - that tells me that the coupe has less kg per ps, or a better power to weight ratio than the sedan.

huh never looked much closer into it but that makes sense too, thanks for pointing it out :)

either way like i mentioned in my earlier post not much difference to warrant a drastic difference in acceleration in real world situation.

lol true, but im guessing you dont have kids... as when trying to get 3 kids into the back seat of the car and 2 in their car seats in the pouring rain every second counts.

I considered the sedan at first, mainly to banish my mother to the back seat as she's a very dangerous passenger in the front seat. The stories I have to tell about how she made my dad stack the Maxima and almost made me stack it in the same car many years later...

But I came to the realisation that:

a) I have the old BA wagon to drive her around in

b) The sedan doesn't look as sexy as the coupe.

But in your case, 3 kids won't fit in the back seat - assuming the front seat will be occupied by a significant other in whatever form - girlfriend, fiance, wife, blow-up doll, etc. So, no option for you but sedan.

That's weird. They're the same motor and drivetrain (from '08 onwards, if I remember correctly) but the coupe is heavier as is usually the case with 2-door vehicles. That just doesn't seem right to me.

    • Ok guess I can rule out the battery, probably even the starter and alternator (maybe) as well. I'm gonna clean those leads and see what happens if it's still shit I might take it to an auto electrician. Unless the immobiliser is that f**king heavy, but it shouldn't be.  If I start the car every day, starts up perfectly never an issue.
    • Anything above ~9.5V is acceptable. The higher the better, but it will almost always drop to at least 10.5V, if not lower, even with a new big battery and everything else being good. 9.76 is not a concern. If it goes below 9, you'd be sure that there's a problem with either the battery or the connections.
    • It's new almost. Under a year old i think and I've tested it twice at supercheap
    • Glue the head from a Pez dispenser on it. Goofy, or Winnie the Pooh, so something.
    • Adjusting the idle screw is usually (emphasis on usually) just covering up deeper issues. Stuff like the cold start valve not closing properly. Throttle shaft seals on the way out. Coolant temp sensors getting out of spec. Coolant temp sensors especially can be a bear to diagnose because they can fail subtly. My dad just spent weeks chasing down his high idle. He cleaned the coolant temp sensor and everything but the resistance curve just drifts over time and if it's been 20+ years they also get super slow to respond as well. Has a massive effect on fuel economy as if it's off the ECU is going to run richer and command high idle for far longer than it should otherwise.
