Sr20 With R32 Gearbox

hey

im looking at putting a r32 gearbox into my S15 as the other one broke, what would i have

to do for it to work together? also it has a r32 gts diff in as well

any help would be much appreciated

They have a different bellhousing, which is part of the main casing of the gearbox. So, there is a certain amount of dismantlery and whatnot to make it happen.

Diff has nothing to do with it except that the gearing will be all wrong for an SR20.

Well, R32 diff gears are 4.3:1. Silvia diff gears are more like 3.7. So if you like really short gearing (good accelaration, high cruising revs and >10% speedo error) then you do nothing. If you don't want any of that, you swap back to a silvia diff.

I don't know if it would be worth the effort for the conversion, why not Z32 or R33?
R32 gearboxes aren't very strong, seems like a lot of effort for not much of an upgrade.

I'd recommend either sourcing another S15 box or upgrading Just a thought.

I think there's a guy on nissansilvia.com selling bellhousing conversions to put Z32 onto SR20. Unsure of link sorry.
