Running Hks Gtrs On Standard Rb25 Ecu

Hi all,

I just forked out a lot of coin for a HKS GTRS turbo. I still need to get further supporting mods to run the turbo efficiently (ecu,injectors etc).

I've already got the turbo installed and currently driving with it. My question is,is it safe to run the turbo on standard ecu and injectors? For the meantime anyways.When I give it a bit,the engine suddenly surges an runs rough,I know I know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Fork out some more coin for an ECU and tune before you fork out even more coin for another engine.

Best to leave your car as stock as you can and buy things slowly when coin comes your way....then do it all in one hit with the install. That's what in doing! No point doing thinks half way, do it properly or not at all.

i recently changed cams in my brothers car and on the slightest load its detonating its ass off. One go around the block and there were pock marks on the plugs. Nothing changed except the cam.

Its that sensitive at times, so save yourself the motor and leave it till you can afford the ecu.
