Hey guys

I'm currently looking at buying either a nardi or keys racing steering wheel for my R32 GTR. I'm just not sure whether to get the flat or a deep type one.

Anyone know whether the deep type steering wheel will bring it too close to the driver or does it sit nicely?

Any feedback would be great.

Cheers

how close it will be depends on where you sit...

R32 GTR has telescopic column anyway, so you'll have some adjustment to play with as well.

I used to prefer flat wheels, but have been converted to the closer wheel position with deep dish wheels over the past few years. Its personal preference though. On my soarer I have the column fully extended, a 3" dished wheel and a 2.5" spacer off my old rally car. Its only just close enough after all that!

I use a dished wheel. Had a flat but had to change when the bolt in cage went in. Using the flat steerer, I couldn't fit my hand between the cage and the wheel. Potential issue!

you need to consider how you will mount it.

a boss kit adds about 10cm

a quick release adds about 8cm more.

In my case, flat was definately required.

when you sit in the car is the stock steering wheel in the right place compared to the seat and pedals? generally a good adjustment has your seat comfortable to the brake pedal when pushed all the way to the floor, then you should adjust the steering column or seat back so that your wrists rest on the wheel with your arms straight (ie your hands can hang down behind the wheel)
