is a 10bar oil pressure gauge over kill?

I've found some that are 7 or 8 bar, i'd rather have a gauge that has a wider useable range.

also on a rb20 can i just disconnect the factory sender? is it only used for the crappy stock gauge?

7 is enough. How much oil pressure do you think these things run anyway?

This, especially on electrical gauges. You want a gauge that is in the range as close to possible of your operating medium, be it pressure, temperature, position etc.

RB20 with a factory oil pump, you would fit a 100PSI oil pressure gauge. It's never going to go above that.

Just to give you and idea fully warmed up at idle it will sit at 3bar, 7 bar is fine.

if you plan on going aftermarket oil pump then you will need a 10 bar gauge..my Jun pump gets a touch over 8 bar from memory at cold idle

idealy you will want the aftermarket sensor.. my defi is accurate as hell!
