33gts4
I peeled the black rubber strips down the side of my r33 gts4 off the other day, i baked the car in the morning sun and peeled them off. One side came off just like a sticker and didnt leave anything behind. The other side i think may of been reglued on or something at some stage and has left this sticky shit behind?! Tried soaking it with WD40 and soaking it in the sun it is a little bit easier but still so stuck on there. Wondering if anyone has some you beaut way of removing it?! Any help will be greatly appreciated, Cheers ! ARTZ
Hair dryer and you can old credit card or plastic knife...but honestly its often easier with your fingers unforunately..clean with turps ,prepsol, wax and grease remover or maybe bug and tar remover..but dont scrub at it or it will.scratch ITs a pain in the ass that stuff I know, it wither comes off clean or doesn't come off. My work used to put stickers all over my truck and it was the same deal Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/422265-how-to-get-rid-of-this-sticky-crap-that-has-stayed-behind-after-removing-black-side-strip/#findComment-6793478 Share on other sites

ARTZ
yEah I find a hair dryer helps to soften the glue top. But patience is a virtue with it...GL Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/422265-how-to-get-rid-of-this-sticky-crap-that-has-stayed-behind-after-removing-black-side-strip/#findComment-6793488 Share on other sites
33gts4
Got it all off ! I got a supercheap club plus card and sharpened an edge on the concrete and soaked the crap out of the sticky stuff with 5.56 which is just a cheap WD40. It came off so easy took me 5 minutes to do the whole side of the car when earlier it took me a good 15 mins just to do the tiny but on the front quarter, and didnt mark the paint at all! Would recommend doing this to anyone that gives it a go i was suprised at how easy it came off ! There are still a few tiny specs but i think they should come off with a good polish ! thanks for your help ARTZ, was having a mind blank didnt even think to use a plastic card !
