ID the red cylinder looking thing!

Hi guys,

My car from Jap is coming shortly, and no its not this sil, but however, im curious what the "red tube looking thing" is mounted above the kick panel next to the door, on the passenger side of the vehicle in the interior ?

Just curious cause theres a pic of the same red thing in the same spot, but on my 33 which is arriving soon and I so dont have an idea what on earth it is!!!

Mine still has it, don't see why it's illegal to carry one and use it in an emergency, particulary if you have just parked your car off a cliff

In Japan I do believe that it was a requirement for motorists to have flares in their car in case of an emergency eg stuck in a snowdrift ??

My compliancer took my flare..bastard..anyone got a spare one they'd like to donate to the "help me look cool by having a flare in my 'line" appeal?
