Actually, if you want it registered and legal, you really need it to pass over the pits with zero mods. There would be no way to get my engine swap inspected at Regency if it had a different turbo/manifold/injectors/anything. It all has to be stock as stock for the first time. Then they sign the bit of paper that says the engine swap was done in accordance with their requirements and I drive away and make whatever mods I'm willing to do with/without engineering, etc etc. But the engine swap cannot be signed off without the inspection.

Disclaimer - this is South Australia, where some of our rules are much much better than what you eastern staters have to put up with, but some are a bit more work to get the hoops lined up and jumped through.

qld ftw.

Insert RB25 in to R32 GTST.

go to QLD transport.

Me - "Hi, I replaced the engine in my car as it was broken"

them - "Is the new engine from another make or does it have more cylinders or is it a non turbo engine that you have turbo'd"

Me - "no. It's from a newer skyline

them - "ok, we'll just ge the new engine number"

5 minutes later

them - "here is your new rego papers"

Me - *skid out of driveway*

lol
