Rb25 Splutter At 4K Rpm? Need Advice Buying Car Today!

Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting a 34 today, only has 83,000kms on the clock yet it runs really rough. At about 3-4k rpm when I accelerate it just sits at 4k rpm for a few seconds before it takes off. Is this serious or just basics things like spark plugs, leads and coilpack? I'm getting a RACV check but this is just to know if it's been in any major accidents and the condition off suspension and if there's rust under the car etc. RACV will acknowledge the problem but wont tell me what it is (really stupid). Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!!

coipacks my man.... they are breaking down under boost/high load.

about 500 bucks for a full set. use that to negotiate.

Yeah that one fell through unfortunately. I put a deposit and he still sold it to someone else for $500 more lol. At least I got my deposit back.

More importantly, I want to make sure it's the coilpacks. Is there anyway to test this?

Yes mate I have her in my garage! Everything went fine, coilpacks are fine, it just had some shitty spark plugs.
