I have no idea what you're talking about...you can't explain that.

Type up a letter, outlining it all - and providing all the evidence to the contrary. Documented evidence etc.

At the end of the letter simply state that as it is ILLEGAL to make a FALSE report - and as such, you will not be taking the car in.

They should then drop it.

And then do the EPA car park dobbing

This. I find it ridiculous that you would even contemplate doing the test knowing well and truly your innocent.

Request to talk to management, the dummies on the phones dont know nothing about anything outside their normal work protocol/procedure.

Thanks mate. I've sent an email explaining the situation, attached with all the documents to support the fact I was not present at time of apparent sighting.

I will write a formal letter should a resolution not be reached after email and phone call.

Hahahahahaha always provides the lulz.

Best case scenario: they drop the letter and we go EPA car park dobbing

Worst case scenario: we go EPA car park dobbing

Well that's my exact train of thought. Why do the imte if I hadn't done the crime? Like someone mentioned previously, it's like putting someone in jail PRIOR to having evidence against them.

Will def be talking to someone higher up if my email doesn't get a satisfactory response.

And even when you get a satisfactory response, complain, find out and ask for a letter of apology from the person that incorrectly reported you for wasting your time and stress provided.

That way the person or police officer will think twice about willy nilly just reporting number plates

Chances of a letter of apology from EPA and Vic Police will be virtually impossible BUT, if I ever did get one, I would frame it and cherish it forever.

Email is just as valid as a typed and printed letter. So if you write a snail mail version, be angrier

Too true. Since I've been accused of being a tight ass asian, I might as well get angrier in the letter since it would've cost me about an extra $0.45 for the paper and about $0.60 for the stamp. Do noise test for $42? NO BLOODY WAY!!

Farkin awesome^

Reminds me of that story about the cop who pulled over a work cover OH&S officer on a freeway and fined him for something negligible, then got a fine himself for not wearing high vis vest on a freeway...or something to that effect.
