Turbo Squeel

Hey all

I put up a post earlier but cant find it so sorry for the annoying repost

I stated early that my turbo has been squeeling and i wasnt sure what it was. So said it could be from a broken gasket or a broken manifold bolt.

I went to a machenic and he would a stuffed exhaust gasket bit all manifold bolts are fine, turbo gasket is good and the turbo is perfect.

Just wondering if you had any advice as to what it could be.

I was thinking it could be an intake pipe sucking shut or mabe a leak some where?

Any help would be very much appricated.

May sound stoopid, but I had a leaf which had sucked it's way into my panel filter in my airbox. It was squeeling like a saxaphone reed. Pulled it out, all quiet again.

Ha that sounds fair enough, but i had it cleaned so that rules that out, but ill keep that in mind

If so its dying or comes factory.. havnt figured iut what one yet.

No its a rb25 neo. Gotta take it in for another look.

I guess you (with help from a friend or mechanic) could try stalling it up a bit in 1st gear with foot on brake, handbrake on etc while the other finds where noise is exactly coming from.

I also guess you may have already tried this :|

Na i havnt yet, im gonna be putting a front mount on soon so i think it might be fixed through that process. Just have to wait and see.

Still most likely gasket leak from any one of the gaskets from either side of the exhaust manifold or the turbo to dump.

Commonly caused by a snapped exhaust manifold stud.

I had squealing with mine a few times. Mine was caused by the turbo manifold leaking after the nuts loosening after taking 1 too many hits on the front pipe on speed bumps...
