Stagea Humans,

Just wondering if anyone is running 20s on their M35 and what specs they are? Looking at some 20x10s in a +38 which should theoretically fit, but would like to know what others have. Pretty handy with the old guard roller after all these years so a little bit of massaging is no issue.

Many Thanks im Advance,

Jeff

Yes I agree with Alex I think you will have issues on the inside not the outside, I have 19*9.5 +35 and there is very little room to the suspension I have around 3mm to the strut.

I only put them on Thursday and nothing as yet. I think a few others have run the same spec with no issue. When I think about it there must be more room because I tried on and drove with some 19*9.5 +38 as well. I will double check. I also have the Bilstein suspension in mine if it makes a difference?

Wheels look ok but you need more offset or some spacers!

The killer is the Over Fenders.

The steelwork underneath is the same as the RS/RX, but the guards protrude out another 15 or 20mm, so you can't push the offsets too far unless you start cutting metal or going bananas with guard rolling.

Also, I think they need some more sidewall; the guards just swallow the wheels up with super low profile.

Question for yah. If I run 19 x 8.5 I'm gay aye? Pity I cannot fit wider because I'd be hardcore like you then! IMO on the m35 if its white its gay!

Pfft. My 18x8 white rims look awesome! Could do with a fraction more sidewall though...

Anything under 8.5" wide is not even a worthy upgrade IMO.

And if your into handling, make sure your 20's are not Tempe tyres/ taleb tyres / ozzy tyres specials.

Stuff I could cast a better circle in my daughters sand pit!

Better have bucket of lead to balance the suckers to.

Really a well made 19" is the performance limit.

Anything over your adding to much Unsprung weight and tyres will cost you a heap.

Just my 3 cents

My 2c

First, the one car i have seen with 19x10+ wheels looked horrible. To add, it was also dangerous.

Second, people think buying wide rims and putting Ling Long tyres on them makes them a handling God. I'll take 30mm smaller, quality tyres over china spec any day.

And Christian, maybe you should check out what fits before offering advice. Not many of us are StanceNation orientated.

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
